First of all, Is not that I don´t want third party support for the console, of course I want it. And obviously the console will be better with it.

BUT, NX doesn´t need third parties at all to suceed, why? Because if that machine is the Nintendo Fusion we have been talking for years, then here you have a very realistic scenario:

NX is gonna be a 200$ machine, handheld and homeconsole at the same time where Nintendo is gonna be able to focus all their efforts, If Nintendo usually release 50% of their games in handhelds and the other 50% on homeconsole, NX will have the 100%, and thanks to that, NX will be the console with more first party support of the history. That console will have no droughts at all, it will have huge ips like Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Splatoon, etc in full exclusivity, also the console will be able to play nes, snes, n64, gba, ds, GC , Wii and even its new mobile games, making it almost a Nintendo temple, one very cheap btw.

In this scenario every fan of Nintendo handhelds and Nintendo homeconsoles are going to desire that console even if there is not a single third party involved. If the console does not set the world on fire at first, the constant release of quality games will make it grow more and more,  if in a single year you are able to release a Metroid, a Zelda, a Pokemon, a F-Zero , an animal crossing, etc in one single console, then it´s fated to succeed, even if it´s only as secondary console (as handhelds uses to be).

So even if the mainstream gamer doesn´t buy the console, the userbase will be big enough, and when the console becomes a success (even if it´s only a moderated one) the third parties will care about it, and they will make some games for the console too in order to take a piece of the cake. But they will have a huge problem with NX, the amount Nintendo games on that console will be a wild competence for any third party, so third parties will need to do a great job with their games and the target audience in order to succeed on NX, not sure if they will do it.

So, in conclusion, NX doesn´t need third parties to succeed, the console will solve all problems wiiu had:

- No droughts
- No lack of variety and huge ips
- No online limitations thanks to Dena
- No overpriced

Plus,
it will be the only place to play their first party games,

All that will be enough for the console to have a good userbase where Nintendo will be able to sell tons of games.

I´m not talking about my desires here, I´m talking about what I think is going to happen even if the console is not supported by third parties.

You do realize that saying the NX doesn't need third parties, but then listing one of the largest video game publishers in the world kinda devalues the argument......

Also, Nintendo's offerings alone are not enough to sustain a console. They need a big hit surprise hit like Wii Sports for the console to thrive on Nintendo's back (which still had a lot of big third party titles, just not the ones that people think of).

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

A $200 home console/handheld hybrid... At that price it won't even have Wii U graphical ability. Good luck with that,

i think this gen has proven why it does need 3rd party support.

Nice NX logo, but it does need third party support.

I agree with this for the most part (the thing will still need 3rd perties, but not as much as the previous consoles). I love the Fusion idea and I hope Nintendo goes all the way on it. I only see one problems with your logic: Handheld games and home console games don't take the same time and resources to make. If Nintendo doesn't organise teir budgets and teams correctly, we could see them making too many handheld-like titles instead of the big home console-like ones. And that could annoy people with both models or the home console only.

Also, lol at the NX logo. Here's a free NX gif too.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

No, it needs.

If we assume NX gets next to zero third party support, you gotta choose one of these two options:

- Release of quality titles.

- No droughts.

Awesome photo!!!

3rd parties rule the industry, no matter which way you put it. Unless NX becomes a novelty or "cool" new thing like the Wii or DS or Apple products, it will need 3rd parties to survive. The Nintendo brand and mascots are not as big system sellers as they used to be...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
