It will be fun to see how $299 PS4 performs against Xbox One.

Xbox will dominate because BC and halo.

I don't know why everyone is so confident in the PS4 right now. At this point I feel like Xbox is going to start catching up, unless Sony can get out some real heavy hitters real soon. The benefits they had going into this gen are going away.

I do. Halo and another price cut will give MS a comfortable win in the US over the last few months. Don't think the third party deals are going to do as much as some think.

except with fallout 4, bf, hitman, batman, cod and others..... you have to be stupid to release in q4, since any game would be overshadowed by those ip, and not every console gamer is going to buy 5+ games this holiday season

Why ? HAlo fans already were milked for sales with Hmcc.  

A temporary cut is no longer a surpise it was last year, sony can and likely has a strategy to counter.   And having lerened form lack of BF bundle stock last year will in all common sense know how many they really need this time.  

And why are games whos fanbases have been already been pandered to going to sale Xones agian ?

This. Some people need to realize that this is a business. Releasing games, especially exclusives, in the midst of Battlefront, Fallout 4, Blops 3, Hitman, and AC: Syndicate is not a financially good decision. You're better off releasing games outside of the holiday season to give them breathing room.
