I believe most reviewers and fans would suggest PS4, Sony has done everything right this Gen and are releasing some really interesting games, and Bloodborne looks fantastic :). Personally, I have an Xbox because I have a history with it and Halo and the style of XBox games appeal to me. I also like the idea of having PC and consoles share the same platform. And now that MS has released the greatest Metroidvania game since Super Metroid and Symphony of the night in Ori, I am stuck with Xbox this Gen as well :). But you can't go wrong either way you go, if you go with PS4 you will get incredible games and a huge community of gamers

Wait for the holidays and see who offers the best deals. I think both Sony and MS will have price drops later this year.

pretty much agree with this exactly though I think the controllers are a wash even though I prefer symmetrical sticks like WiiU and PS4 (just a preference which is why I say wash).  I will say Xbox has more apps so if that's your thing then go that route probably

PS4 now and later and x1 down the line for 99$

Better 3rd parties more diverse exclusives. More indies more power just plain more everything, its the market leader. Means more better deals for it more for you.

1st thing.........adding a poll will get you 80% ps4 votes and 20% xbox votes whatever the topic so it's a bit redundant.

Secondly, I don't know why anyone would feel the need to have both consoles, they're basically the same with mostly the same games unless any of the few exclusives are incredibly important to you, then your choice would have already been made.

if you don't have a strong history with either side to feel obligation to say such as having subscriptions or purchases to reclaim, then I'd go for the ps4 mainly because a huge user base makes for a better online experience and insures the console stays supported for a long time.

Wait to see what Microsoft shows at Gamescom then it should be clear.

On PS4 you will get all the FPS in the world running better then you would on X1.  except Halo Gears.

So Better 3rd parties and and Uncharted Tlou vs HAlo Gears and lesser 3rd parties.  

Then wait to see what Sony has at the Tokyo Game Show and Paris games week -- and then it should be clear.
