Forums - Sony - Why are people not angry about Vita?

If it means anything I'm angry. The PSP was my favorite handheld and one of my favorite systems overall while the Vita is so repellent to me it's shocking. Sony had so many opportunities to compete and make the Vita more popular but they have never put any effort into supporting the damn thing.

Because apart from a few remaining forum members, everyone knows what the vitas fate is.
The Wii u on the other hand just got a shot from splatoon, a freaking new IP. People had hope nintendo was figuring thing out and that the wii u still had some life left

Any gaming handheld besides Nintendo products are not treated seriously.

Because nobody has any illusions that Sony is going to start supporting the Vita in the west, the thing is dead and people have accepted it.

Why aren't people angry at the lack of reveals of the ps3 or the xbox 360. Their time has passed, and people, even sony, knows that the vita's time has passed.

The wii u on the other hand was constantly promised support and titles, so when nintendo didn't deliver, it made sense that people would get mad

I think the general opinion is that it was astonishing that the Vita got mentioned at all during the main presentation. As a Vita owner though, I feel I speak for all of us when I say that we've accepted that it is our weeb and indie machine. I've got quite a few Vita games still left to buy and play with more stuff on the way this year, so it's not like the Vita is going through a game drought or anything. Unless you don't like weeb games. Then you might see it as being in a game drought. Maybe.

My wife paid $80 for the Vita TV as a Christmas present to me last year, so the platform wasn't a huge investment for me. I knew that Sony has all but quit supporting the platform, so no reason to be angry. At least companies like Koei Tecmo, Xseed, NISA will continue to bring new content to the Vita. It isn't much, but it's better than nothing.

No one really expected anything big for Vita. For Nintendo, however, expectations were sky high, and they failed to deliver.

Basically this.

The ship sailed for the Vita after late 2013 really(after Killzone Mercenary came out). The Wii U still has potential with staples like Metroid, F Zero, a true 3D Mario etc unreleased but it seems like those titles are not coming out on it.

I actually didn't expect it to be mentioned at all, but World of Final Fantasy looked interesting, so that was a surprise. Plus the Revolver indies, it looked at least reasonably decent.

Either way, Tokyo Game Show is where most of the announces for Vita happen, since it's only doing well in Japan.

Despite that, saying that Nintendo showed Wii U games is misleading. They showed games that everyone knew. It would be the same that seeing Sony displaying RE Revelations 2, SaGA and Digimon. I don't care, I already know that they are coming, so at least Vita had a new game announced.

In the end, the console holds pretty well and get some nice indie games and some AAA Japanese games. People are just too much negative about it. Nintendo usually get a free pass, there are even a bunch of people defending that aberration that's Star Fox Zero on VGC.

Sony already said they're done with supporting the device outside of Japan, that's why.
