Fall 2017 133 47.00%

Sometime 2018 30 10.60%

Total:283

NX in 2017, to replace the 3DS.
Wii U replaced in 2018, if i had to guess.

NO! Nintendo need to release a new hardware. Fans will get disappointed any way, especially how even Nintendo, and 2nd party developers + the 3rd party developers are starting to back away from Wii U. I think Nintendo themselves noticed how important making the hardware as superior as it can be, in todays market. And even the 3DS is getting old too, and i dont think the NEW3DS made a huge impact.

Pocky Lover Boy!

NX is a handheld imo 2017 and Wii U successor 2018

Seriously why people think NX is Wii U successor. It must be a 3ds replacement because Nintendo's tradition to release handheld console first.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

I think NX isn't a singular product. It's a line of devices that will replace both the 3DS and Wii U.

And if that's different, then good. Nintendo needs to shake up the freaking formula, they can't keep going on as is.

They can't support seperate console and handheld lines anymore either, but you guys expect better graphics every generational leap. It's not realistic.

But I can see the handheld version to release first. It just take more time to develop a home console game.

To be honest I never really understand the allergic whining to new hardware.

New hardware is awesome. It pretty much always means better game experiences. Would you want to play Splatoon on the Wii in SD resolution @ 30 fps and watered down visuals?

I got my NES in 1989, most people got theirs in 1988. We never freaking complained about seeing a Super Nintendo in 1991. Super Nintendo was the most awesome thing ever, my first reaction wasn't "wait a second, they didn't support the NES long enough!". It was "holy shit! SUPER MARIO WORLD!".

The DS replaced the GBA after 3 1/2 and it was a far better system.

Heck during the SNES days, Nintendo announced the SNES succesor (Project: Reality aka: The Nintendo 64) in 1993 when the SNES was only two years old! We never complained, we were all super excited about it.

Like seriously enough with the whining over this. The 3DS needed to be replaced like *yesterday*, it's a good little machine, but every game looks like someone smeared sh*t over the screen. The sooner Nintendo upgrades to a portable with a nice HD display and better than crappy-first-gen-PS2 visuals the better.

...unless the NX is a handheld :/

It will. I called it too. It's clear, too.

Haha...Always so certain spema,be cautious dear, because if you get refuted,be sure that I will remind you what you were saying...:P

We could have a bet,you are so sure, that it thrills me and makes me to really desire to have a bet with you. I'm moderate so If I lose it won't hurt me!

To  the op,I don't rule it out, they could but that's not sure(Plus that I don't believe or want to believe that Nintendo would act so stupidly, briefly:it bothers these nintendo fans who bought the wii u,can hurt sales of late 2015 and 2016 releases and  curtails the room for further growth of already  wii u released games but if NX is backwards compatible these maybe won't happen,it cuts completely the remaining pontential of wii u and leaves it at low numbers that could be fairly higher with one more year of life,no price drop which can be forgived if nintendo just can't do it/profits matter,Ι don't wanna see nintendo to be such a recreant, when for instance splatoon mania recently is  reviving wii u in Japan!)Only one year more makes a difference...

Never a nintendo home console have released same year with the disclosure of it,plus that 2016 will probably be just a reveal and presentation will be at E3 2017 & release in late November! If it's a  3DS successor or a hybrid,I wouldn't take the risk to not to tell that won't come in 2016 though...

An underwhelming E3 is not a sign for a replacement release in 2016,gamecube's E3 2004 was underwhelming too,but revolution(wii) released in the end of November 2006!Easy conclusions are not a good thing!E3 is not everything,we can still get games from directs through they year!Pokemon OR/AS was revealed in a direct for example...

From a thread of mine!

The dolphin(codename of the  gc) was teased in 1999(third year of n64),was revealed at E3 2000,presented at E3 2001 and released in november 2001,Revolution(codename of the wii) was teased in 2004(third year of gc) was announced at E3 2005,showed at E3 2006 and released in november 2006,Nx was teased this year (2015,third year of wii u)Announcement at E3 2016?Probably as ninty said that we will just get details for it in 2016,release november 2017?

Also,Project cafe (codename of the wii u)may not followed exacty this trend, obviously because wii was selling tons of units but partially it did it since it was announced in E3 2011 and released in november 2012,i.e an announcement in E3 and a release one year and half after of it,So that't a proof too!The only difference is that it wasn't  teased in its predecessor third year but in the 5th of it(It's apparent why, wii was a beast) and  in the year of its announcement at E3...

I  think that  I support my opinion very well,so it's not a wish...

I still see Zelda coming out for the Wii U in 2016 to fill the gap.
