I think it will.

I can't see Nintendo waiting 2 more years to move from the WiiU.

If it continues to perform like it is now. It may not reach even 20M by 2017.

It won't. Handheld version next year, console version 2017. People keep forgetting that Nintendo said they wont show 2016 Wii U games this E3.

I was one of them. I didn't believed they would do a Dreamcast move because it's not usually a good idea and was one of the things that broke Sega. But with all that games announced for 3DS and just already know titles for the Wii U, it seems like it will be a home console indeed.

The Zelda no-show makes it looks like they moved it to a NX launch title or at least for the second holidays (assuming NX launches during holidays).



Bet with jetforcejiminy: PS4 will pass the Wii lifetime numbers.

Look at the weekly Wii U sales. Nintendo will replace the console as soon as they can. My guess is 2016.

I just hope they will be able to create some hype if NX is shown next year during e3. This is something the Wii U lacked off the whole time. However, I don't think a digitial event is the right way to introduce a new console. It would be a perfect moment for Nintendo to make a live press conference again. Don't get me wrong. I Like the directs but this is the e3, the most important event for video games. Nowadays even companys like Bethesda, Square and Ubisoft are holding press conferences while nintendo is doing a low budget format and yesterday they were given a lesson.

Besides, it is not to early to introduce a new console. The Wii U is doing poor and this won't change. They need to get the thirds back and this is not possible with the Wii U.

Realistically, counting the years of Wii U support is giving it the benefit of the doubt as the 1st year of Wii U was not really supported by Nintendo - Then after the 1st year we had moderate support holiday of 2013, very little the 1st 1/2 of 2014 and again we are in the middle of very poor support the 1st 1/2 of 2015 - Holiday 2015 may be ok but I would not count on anything yet - I would not doubt more delays for some of the remaining 2015 games
