Nothing really special happened in that gameplay demo. walk around, scripted events (that honestly werent even good) and then shoot at a monster. that was it. Compare that to Uncharted 4 Gameplay reveal or its E3 showing and there is a pretty big difference. i think its expected though, The Coalition is a new studio that never released a game, were given a relativily short 2.5 years dev time to make a new gears, and are expected to make a technical show case for the XB1. i think its just too much to ask them to push the genre forward. the game is still a year and half from release, lets hope the game improves a lot by then. 

The Graphics looked good, and the lighting was fantastic. but even the art style was meh. sure that crazy ass storm looked pretty intense, but it didnt really help the scene a lot. i know the game is a year and a half away from release, but thats about the same time UC4 was away from release when we first saw gameplay. UC4 just has a lot more freedom, enteractivity with the enviroment and much more fluid animations. 

but lets not compare it to the best, even compared to other TPS games, Gears 4 just looks... average... and i dont know how anybody could say other wise. 

Let's be honest, if they had shown a cgi trailer instead, people would also complain, so instead they showed early gameplay footage which was probably built fast to at least show something at e3. But yes, it didn't look that good but it is premature to infer anything.

it looks quite good for an Xbox One game and better than majority of Multiplats, but it becomes more and more obvious that we see that PS4 exclusive are a step above with every new exclusive announced. Like i said it still looks amazing in comparison to the Multiplats 

im not talking about graphics here. 

I thought it looked pretty good, don't think they're trying to reinvent the Gears wheel here. Don't fix what isn't broken.

I'm surprised it played that well considering it only started development about 18 months ago.

I agree but i think they weren't ready to show it off, it'll be a lot better next time we see it.

I think it was far to dark at some points
I have to rewatch it cause maybe it was twitch or something that messed up

But yeah you won't see anything special
This studio was formed to create a new IP before they got lied to and now get wasted on Gears just cause its easy money from its hardcore fanbase.
There is a reason MS bought Gears - They wanted exactly what was working before to be continued.They won't change anything and won't allow it.

It's certainly no Uncharted.

It looked good enough, I overall enjoyed watching the gameplay.
