I disagree. Downloading 50 GB is done in one hour on my end. Decompression on the other hand can take AGES. At least on PS3 it almost killed me waiting hours and hours for those stupid games to install. Like Hitman: Absolution. Downloaded in less than an hour, but it took 2.5 hours to install that shit! If stuff like that gets faster without compression I'm all for it.

I have 250, but I've never seen my PS3 download anything at a speed higher than maybe 3-4MBs, percentage-wise it appears to be utilizing the same bandwidth that my last connection did.

I've never really tested the download speed of my internet vs PSN, I just click to download things, go make a cup of tea or play another game and come back to it later. This said, I really do think that companies need to start compressing their data. Yes, it's fun to be able to fill up the disc on a Blu-Ray but when it installs on your HD, what's the point? Compress the sound files a little, please.

Are you using WiFi? Because that is really slow on PS3.
