Could you imagine if MS really did their own VR? There would be 3 to be released in 2016. That would saturate the market. It was better to partner with the most popular VR and save development costs
I saw this earlier but remained quiet because I thought I misurderstood the concept... but it appears to be the case what I originally thought... I just coudn't believe it because it looked so stupid and worthless. Gee!
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

This just makes it brutally clear.... Xbox has lost when it comes to VR.
Im betting the Holo Lense thing goes badly for the consol as well...
but eventually ends up becomeing a future google glass & smart phone thing and finds massive success there.
I think MS under esitmates what VR is going to do to the gameing market. Not the consol you buy if your intrested in VR.

Thats the problem in just following along.. when you see others do something. Your behinde from the get go. It also means yours product usually ends up worse, than the competitors.
The question is if sony was able to plan ahead for VR and design their PS4 around it..... why didnt Xbox do the same? |
Because of this

From the get go, MS thought that VR was nothing and dint invest in it. Sony did and even build the ps4 around it to suport it. Why else do we have almost the same graphics across mulptyplatforms but the ps4 has 40% more horse power? One reason is parity from devs, but another is VR requiring almost twice the gpu power to fully do VR in comparison to a regular 1080p. Parity might be a thing now, but when VR sets off, even if MS pays the devs a lot, the devs wont be able to scale down the ps4 version to match the x1, or the x1 will not be able to run the game in VR to beging with.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

I completely forgot about that article. That's hilarious.
There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

that would explain why the dumb thing requires a PC to even work

It is VR. Worse than that, you brain expect you to be still while you are moving. Baby cars? Do you have a slight notion of what physics is? It doesn't matter how smooth the car or the road are, you feel the outwards acceleration in curves. The only way your labyrinth won't get any info is on a perfectly straight road with no curves and a car on a constant speed (if you change it, your inner ear will get it).
| Alby_da_Wolf said: It could work only in one case: if the virtual road were the same as the real one the car is travelling through, and if both the real and virtual trips were synchronized. Might as well drive that damn real car instead of the virtual one. |
That would be the perfect experience. But you could just drive the car :D
