I am gonna be nice and say people were just in shock at how awesome that was.

That part of the presentation felt a little misplaced, maybe if (was it Phil) could have been narrating all the way through and kept talking it would have been fine, but that video was presented as if expecting a reaction and it does feel awkward.

Watch the longer version cosmic linked to above, the crowd laughs and Phil does his best to blow it off by saying, "Did she crash, is that why people laughed?"

Holy shit, I thought IGN was being all mean by showing the silence but they were kind instead by not showing the laughing.

I gotta give it to Phil, he did a great job at fighting the urge to escape running.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Exactly, this is a Class A epic fail.  One of the must difficult to find.  Damn near killed the Rift.  There were real journalists there.

Phil did stand his ground though.

I got to admit though, these VR devices are kind of hard to promote. The selling point of the VR is the experience itself, doing it firsthand and wearing the thing around your head. These video presentations only remind people of how stupid they will look wearing the thing.

I don't have much interest in either of them, be it Oculus or Morpheus, but I am interested in seeing if Sony finds a way to deliver and convinces me.

I want to punch someone after seeing that.  What's even the point?

Lolololol. That made me chuckel. I guess it would be good if you were harry potter and had to live under the stairs.

so its not going to be VR but a virtual cinema? At least they are upfront about it.

EDIT: so it doesnt work with just xbox you need a PC and after all that its still not VR? whew

Actually, the worst part of this is, even when you game in your virtual room, you'll feel bad about yourself. You'll still have no friends in your virtual world, just like in real life. Come on M$, at least put one friend sitting beside me. If I could have it my way, I'd have a virtual girlfriend sitting beside me, cuddling me while I play and supporting my gaming habit. Telling me I'm awesome while I play. My other scenario would be a room full of hotties fighting for my attention while I Bone.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

I feel this type of Virtual Reality would have fared better

#1 Amb-ass-ador

I can't shake the feeling this was supposed to be a joke that fell so flat and so hard MS will never be able to scrape it off the floor.

Edit: Upon watching the extended 'did she crash?' video...wow. Nope, not a joke.

Well that was awkward
