That part of the presentation felt a little misplaced, maybe if (was it Phil) could have been narrating all the way through and kept talking it would have been fine, but that video was presented as if expecting a reaction and it does feel awkward.

Watch the longer version cosmic linked to above, the crowd laughs and Phil does his best to blow it off by saying, "Did she crash, is that why people laughed?"

Holy shit, I thought IGN was being all mean by showing the silence but they were kind instead by not showing the laughing.

I gotta give it to Phil, he did a great job at fighting the urge to escape running.

Exactly, this is a Class A epic fail.  One of the must difficult to find.  Damn near killed the Rift.  There were real journalists there.

Phil did stand his ground though.
