HboGo requires a satellite or cable provider and HboNow doesn't. It's just straight HBO for like $15 i think. |
Oh thanks for that.

I'm just hear sending you a warning. This thread is about Xbox, not about NFL. Let's keep it on topic next time, okay?
OT: What's the odds of seeing possibly Saints Row 5 at E3? I know we'll probably get FH3, but I need Saints Row!

With this one comment you've done more moderating as a normal user than you ever did as a mod, well done. Sorry, we're supposed to be attacking Noble, you blind Noble? this is the Xbox thread, try staying on-topic. Edit - Here you go Noble - http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=206563&page=393 |

Well, if games on PS4.5 will also get better fps, better lighting and whatever than XBO will be behind even more. Not only could this cost more sales for XBO but as example Youtubers will only play the PS4.5 versions of future releases. Not sure if it's really good if Youtubers won't use an XBO anymore except for exclusives. In my opinion it's pretty good advertisement if hundreds of millions of people watch gaming videos and your console is used and mentioned from time to time.
If Kid X watches his favourite Youtube channels and they all only use and talk about PS4, it's more likely that he will want one as well. Even if he would only get the "cheaper" normal PS4, if he never hears about XBO anymore and only about Playstation then yeah...
I also wonder if compaies really like to get advertisement deals with MS if their games will perform and look much better on PS4.5
Next question is how PS4.5 will change MS's plans for their next Xbox. The next Xbox should be obviously much stronger as the strongest console already released but with PS4.5 it's not that easy to release a console in the close future which will blow PS4.5 away easily. Sony can extend the lifecyle of PS4 with that and MS would probably like to release the next Xbox not too late.
Good news: I finished both Beyond Eyes and Baseball Riot today.
Bad news: I bought Rare Replay, MGS V and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 within the past 48 hours. At least I only "wasted" 39€ in total

The thing is, all 3 companies are rumored to be switching to mid-gen upgrades in the future. Sony has PS4K "Neo", Nintendo patented what they call a supplemental computing device which will likely be used to boost NX power in a few years, and MS is rumored to be testing multiple Xbox prototypes with PC-like upgrades. If all 3 companies do it, gamers are forced to pick one of the 3, or switch to PC (but let's face it, most console gamers aren't going to switch to PC). Much like PC gamers were mainly forced to accept DRM, console gamers will be forced to accept console upgrades because there won't be any viable alternatives. |
I think console upgrades are defiantly the future but a potential NEO coming this November isn't a very good idea imo and is a way for Sony to slow down the momentum that they have built on from the PS4 launch/Microsoft dropping (probably) the biggest bollock in gaming history which as lead to the PS4 been almost unstoppable. By the time this upgraded console releases there base userbase will be a 50m+ and has the potential to create a lot of unhappy and disgruntled customers and get a similar reaction as Microsoft got 3 years ago.
This also would give Microsoft a potential launch window of 2017(2018 at the very latest for next Xbox imo) for a new Xbox console with full X1 BC that would eclipse the specs of the NEO and announcing from the get go that they will offer upgrade pack every 3 years with plans to always support the 2 more recent spec console/upgrade packs giving each piece of hardware a guaranteed 6 year life span (Example.. Xbox 2.0 - 2017, Xbox 2.1 2020, Xbox 2.2 2023 this year support for the 2.0 retires after a 6 year lifespan)
A large part of me thinks that Sony are reacting to the impending NX and want to be able to carry on saying that they have the "most powerful console in the world " but could potentially leave them in a dark place come 2017 and could actually have the lowest spec console of the 3 whislt also loosing a lot of customer trust and bad PR through NEO.
I would also think 90% of people who say they will go to PC gaming if this happens wouldn't and just say they would. I became 50/50 PC/console last gen and committing fully to just staying with console in the future gen but if I know there will be upgrade cycles on a 3 year basis you know what your getting into and people would accept it.
Obviously this is all based on speculation and the NEO may never come to exist or Microsoft could spring out an upgraded console at the same time mas Sony along with something wacky and low spec from Nintendo.

I think they are reacting to the rumors of a new Xbox with PC tier upgrades. If this does blow in their faces and MS releases a better version that surpasses the other two (Neo and NX) then I am calling it: MS planned it all along to smash Sony with their own ambition.
I'd like solely for the sheer amount of nerdrage it would cause. I bet even Japan would freak out if it did happen, but I am just fantasizing with my most desired outcomes for the near and far future that involve me being right and laughing at the rest of the world as they trip over each other in the dark...
I don't have issues!
