MS should wait at least 1 year after Sony releases the PS5, they need to have the power advantage. The XB1X will still get support at least 2 years into the next gen since it would have the necessary power to handle those games unlike the PS4 Pro but not at 4k and that's totally fine, not to mention that I fully expect native BC between the XB1X and Xbox4.

With MS AAA games ramping up Phil Spencer could fill in some of the blanks by Green-Lighting Recore 2 and Sunset 2, and hopefully talk with Crytek about Ryse 2 and Remedy about Alan Wake 2. I know tons of sequels but it would easier than making a new IP from scratch.

I agree with everything you said specially the part about native BC, however I'm not sure if the next Xbox releasing one year after the PS5 would be good for sales, despite being good for the power advantage. Considering that the PS and the Xbox will "compete" once again, the PS5 releasing one year earlier would probably drag many current Xbox gamers that later would choose not to buy the Xbox4 because they would already be entertained with their already owned console. The Xbox 360 released one year before the PS3 and the generation ended up with the PS3 having a slight advantage against the X360. So considering that the PS brand has kind of a historical advantage of being considerably more famous than the Xbox in everywhere but NA, I think that the Xbox4 would struggle A LOT in the "war" against PS5 in the scenario you suggested.

Agreed. MS needs to strike while the iron's hot and release earlier if possible or not release at all and instead replace the original XBO with the XBX...

To be honest, I'm worried about the next gen of consoles, specifically all of the download sizes if they do not use 4K blu-rays, or even digital-only as a possibility for the consoles. So, I'd prefer that the current-gen last as long as possible.

Voted 2020, If we believe Phil when he said he's started to focus on games now, a lot of them games won't be ready for about 3 years which would be around 2020 and would make a nice launch period, now I don't want them all to be launch titles because it feels like launch titles tend to be rushed and the developers have to account for working on new hardware but in the general period would be good enough.

Something like Fable should have only started production in late 2017, accounting for it being a brand new studio it will likely increase their development time but I could see it launching in something like Q2 of 2021, If 343 screws over The Coalition by moving Halo 6 into 2019 then Gears 5 will very likely be a 2020 title, I just can't see them launching both them titles in the same year.

I voted 2020 and that's pretty much what I was about to type, saves me some time :)

With the leaks of the new Coalition IP I do think that Halo 6 releasing 2019 has been planned for a while now and that's why the Coalition are working on the new IP, potentially releasing holiday 2018 or early 2019 i'd say as this would still give them them another 2 year development cycle for Gears 5 to release holiday 2020 as a Next Box launch title.

You're a machine xD

and yet only rank 225 for GS earned in 2017, which was my best year ever (by quite a bit). So I will likely never make it that far. :(

Amazon Spain lists State of Decay 2 as May 25th and Crackdown 3 as June 29th.

They're probably wrong but June would make sense for Crackdown 3 and with the ESRB for State of Decay 2 already being done, I could see that being around May.

I hope it's true. No need to rush Crackdown 3 as I've previously mentioned. Better release it the after SoT and SoD2. Though I hope that MS will announce some stuff at E3 for summer release as well. They will definitely have something for September-December window as usual but releasing some games in the summer will surely show some confidence that they've started to understand the importance of constant software output instead of stacking everything for holiday season.

Also, I've voted 2021 for this poll because I feel that this gen will be a little longer than everyone expects. Both Sony and MS will want to have the tech in their next-gen consoles that will be significantly better than PS4Pro and Xbox One X.

For the poll, October 13, 2020 is when the new-feature "mainstream support" for windows 10 ends so november 2020 would be a perfect date to release a console based on the next windows generation

It seams like everyone is penciling in a halo spinoff this year. I just don't see much proof of that. The guy from resetera said there's 2 titles coming up. But couldn't one be halo 6 and the other be warzone 2.0 for halo 6. Or halo battlegrounds for halo 6. Or couldn't it be another mobile shooter like spartan assualt.

I'm just saying don't get ur hope up for one. I've changed my expectations for the future to no halo for 2018. Halo 6 for 2019 sometime with a greatly expanded or revamped warzone mode, with a possible mode somewhat similar to pubg. Emphasis on the words possible mode and similar to. I do not expect but would be plesently surprised by a 2018 halo including a spinoff.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.
