Why would MS have two different studios working on Fable? MechWarriors as an online F2P game is more likely.

Would you consider MechWarrior as a 'Globally Recognised IP'?

Yes I do the franchise has 4 successful entries on PC, although I do know realize that MS doesn't own MechWarriors but MechAssault is still part of the BattleTech franchise. And yes BattleTech is bigger than Fable no doubt.

Having one studio work on Legends while having another work on Fable 4 would be stupid imo.

The StoryLab Productions page about The Coalitions new IP is gone, MS must have had them take it down after more people started noticing.

Yup, interesting.

Also the file leaker to me seems a bit unsure now as to whether it's Perfect Dark or The Dark Tide, I'm betting he did exactly what I posted a few days ago, he is however still leaning towards Perfect Dark based on the fact he knows the file involves 3rd person cross-hairs (The book doesn't have guns) but considering the book is only being used as the basis for a game, I'd say there's absolutely no reason why this adaptation can't involve guns.

We'll see, this speculation is giving us all something to talk about at least I'm thinking it could be like an Alan Wake type game, also it seems like State of Decay 2 news is on it's way soon too.

At least we have confirmation that MS 2nd biggest studio is getting the chance to work on a second AAA game besides Gears, things are changing for the better with Spencer fully in control now.

The Coalition just might be Microsoft's MVP potentially along Playground Games, 343i Needs to step up their game does Halo really need nearly 500 people working on a single franchise producing one game at a time? hopefully they get the opportunity to work on other projects not Halo related in the future.

Well, not including Playground because Microsoft doesn't own them, I'd say The Coalition is already Microsoft's MVP Studio, they've already in this short time gone ahead of 343 (Obviously not in terms of money) but everything else from their leader (Rod Fergusson) to how efficiently and quickly their studio was set up, to the games that they have released in such a short period, the general vibe that I get from the studio and them pretty much being Microsoft 'Go to' studio when it comes to technical things.

343 definitely needs to step up and I don't even think they need to do a new IP to do that (I strongly doubt 343 will ever do a new IP based on the fact that the studio was made for Halo and is in control of everything Halo with seemingly very little input from Microsoft) but they don't exactly need to do a new IP to do something 'new', for example if they did a Halo RPG it would be vastly different to anything they have ever done.

I'm kind of envious of the Gears side being more of a Halo fan because I believe The Coalition is doing so much better than 343 right now, I do however get a feeling that 343 is going through a sort of change recently when it comes to community (HCS, MCC, Openness, Listening) and games (Possibly delaying H6 and being more strict on what they green-lit)

Hopefully they're going through a sort of small scale restructure too, based on the number of senior staff movement going on in the past year it certainly feels like that is a possibility, I'm starting to slowly feel better about 343.

Well what I mean about Playground Games is that they are effectively a 2nd party studio right now, all of their games have been with MS. With Forza Horizon 3 becoming a massive success and FH:4 looking to be even bigger I doubt that they would stop making that franchise for MS unless they get bored and want to do new things, also them getting Fable is pretty massive considering that's it's a top 4 MS IP that's a big responsibility that I doubt MS would have given to just anyone. I also doubt that it would be one and done with Fable 4 unless it bombs, they might be the permanent home for Fable if all goes well.

MS have better give them a long 2nd party contract like they gave Undead Labs, having a proven studio that has 2 teams capable of making AAA games in the fold would very valuable for MS going forward.

New year, new Xbox dashboard.

MS should wait at least 1 year after Sony releases the PS5, they need to have the power advantage. The XB1X will still get support at least 2 years into the next gen since it would have the necessary power to handle those games unlike the PS4 Pro but not at 4k and that's totally fine, not to mention that I fully expect native BC between the XB1X and Xbox4.

With MS AAA games ramping up Phil Spencer could fill in some of the blanks by Green-Lighting Recore 2 and Sunset 2, and hopefully talk with Crytek about Ryse 2 and Remedy about Alan Wake 2. I know tons of sequels but it would easier than making a new IP from scratch.
