I'm still kinda hoping that the new game Playground is working on is a new IP rather than Fable, I'd really like to see what these can do completely starting from scratch with just been given the goal of creating a new AAA open world action RPG as their target.

I love Fable but i'd prefer that it was been developed by another studio (potentially one we don't know of yet) and that way we get 2 action RPG's in development :)

Maybe it's better for Playground to work on an existing IP since it's their first non-racing game.

My problem is that if Playground are the guys working on a Fable reboot is that they will likely never get a chance to create a new IP and be stuck developing up a full Fable trilogy over the next 10 years, I'm not saying that's a bad thing but I would just love for them to be given the creative freedom to make a big new AAA IP(presuming it is MS funded their new studio). They have done an amazing job with FH and with good recruitment should be able to transition into a great studio for a open world action RPG.

I also hope that MS don't spend to much money on timed exclusives especially AAA games, we don't need another Rise of the Tomb Raider situation or another confusing and misleading E3 like last year with all them announcing all those "exclusives". They should be going after 2nd party games.

I really hope they don't waste their time on timed exclusives too, he did respond with this...

"From the ones I know it's very much a case of the game(s) would have stayed on PC for the foreseeable future without the additional MS funding. I'm not aware of any Rise of the Tomb Raider style previously announced as multiplat now going timed exclusive style deals."

I wouldn't be surprised if one them/maybe both would be Divinity Original Sin 2/ Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire, both fit the description and had their prequels ported to consoles. Speeding up bringing Deadfire to Xbox closer to it's PC launch would be great.

So PC games then PUBG and Black Desert Online would fall under that category and they are both only Console Launch exclusives. Unless MS gets something like Star Citizen as an exclusive I'm not all that excited.

We don't know the details of their Contract with Microsoft, MS can't force them to be a Fable/Forza Horizon only studio because they are still a Independent Studio. MS would be wise to greenlight the New IP that they were working on as an Xbox Exclusive though, they can make it after they complete Fable 4.

Looking at the big shooters releasing in fall/holiday I do hope halo is early 2019 or later.
Battlefield
A revitalized brand in call of duty
Anthem- you know ea is going to put everything they have to sell this
Metro exodus
Red dead 2
Hunt
Walking dead
Dead island 2

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

I completely missed this in the Halo Community Update:

2018 has arrived and with it, the promise of new fun times to be had and adventures to be embarked upon. No, not those adventures, but plenty of exciting ones regardless – some which might surprise you more than others.

Sounds like it's pretty much confirming no Halo 6 this year to me but maybe a spin-off?

A Halo MMO-ish game like Destiny/Planetside 2 except not as mediocre would be good decision by MS.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is Spring as of now, though it could get delayed again. Dead Island 2 still needs to be re-revealed, might be 2019 for all we know. But yeah, overall I agree, there is going to be alot of competition next Holiday, Halo 5 will have an uphill battle if it releases then. Heck, for all we know Ubisoft may have another Rainbow 6 for the Holiday as well, it has been 3 years since Siege released afterall. Borderlands 3 is also a possibility for Holiday 2018 after 3.5 years of development.

If it releases in 2019 however, it's main competition is an Infinity Ward CoD (both of their previous CoD's this gen have been poorly received) and SW Battlefront 3 (which will have an uphill battle itself after the Battlefront 2 lootbox fiasco).

I thought red dead was may as of now. But I don't see it making that as of now. Most likely August/September. I forgot about borderlands 3. I'm pretty sure that it's rumored to release next year. As far as rainbow six goes, I remember reading something in 2016 that they were not actively making a sequel but instead increasing and prolonging post release content. I guess it's a huge money maker for them. So I honestly don't expect a sequel till 2019 or later.

The next game with any kind of Halo name in it needs to be Halo 6 that is it.

I truly hope so, because Xbox sorely needs an exclusive AAA RPG, with that it'll finally have an arsenal of exclusive games encompassing all genres, it already has an exclusive shooter in Halo and an exclusive racer in the Forza franchise, a full-blown RPG would finally bring Xbox out of its exclusive lineup slump.

Looking forward to the game and others in 2018 like State of Decay 2, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, Forza Horizon 4 and many more.

I know that people will complain about MS only having Fable/Forza/Halo/Gears, but Fable is desperately need to fill the AAA RPG genre especially since Scalebound was cancelled and Phantom Dust reboot seems to be dead as of now. The Fable franchise has not reached it's full potential yet.
