I hope MS secures marketing rights to Bethesda's new IP's that are in the work as well as Elder Scrolls VI and maybe Fallout 5 in the far future :-p

I know that Halo 6 might not be coming this year, but imagine, just imagine Halo 6 being unveiled in E3 2018 and the release date saying Holiday 2018...
I know it will not happen but I can always dream.
Will def buy DS1 Remastered, I just hope that they can put in Undead King Jar-Eel as a boss that would be cool extra content.
Having the DS trilogy on one console is amazing.

It seems like they're waiting to start State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3 marketing until after Sea of Thieves releases in March. |
It is slightly odd how quiet they are with Crackdown 3. No tweets since august and nothing from any studios for very long time, not even something for the end ot the year or some greetings for this year. They have never been so quiet on twitter before, even after delays. It slightly reminds me Scalebound after they went quiet in september or so. The game will either gets cancelled or they will try last time to make big blowout for Crackdown 3 on E3. Personally I think it wont get cancelled, but wouldnt be surprise if it did.
State of Decay 2 gets plenty of news and some concept arts, even when we havent seen any new footage after E3. State of Decay 2 twitter page denied the rumored release date, but Crackdown 3 hasnt said anything about it. I really hope they have improved State of Decay 2 animations, I can live with the average graphics, but animations were big turn off in E3. Still hoping this game will be fun.
| I LOVE GIGGS said: Why people ask for new IPs from Microsoft the most? They work on new IPs as much as Nintendo for example, if not more. It is just that Sony and Nintendo has the fan base to support these new projects. Sony has a diverse base that will help on increasing the chances of them becoming a commercial success. Nintendo has an extremely loyal fan base that mostly support whatever they come up with, and they deserve this. Microsoft came up with or helped funding Ryse, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, TitanFall, Sea of Thieves, Ori, Cuphead, ReCore and many other smaller titles. That is at least 8 IPs in 4 years of Xbox One life. I got bored of people asking for a new IP just for the sake of it. I prefer they spend this money on reviving loved franchises that weren't a commercial success, like Halo Wars 2. Instead of spending extra effort on new IP, I prefer to see these effort go to a sequel for Alan Wake, Sunset Overdrive, Kameo, or any other similar franchise. |
I've been saying this for the longest. MS is in the worst position ever. They're fanbase won't expand and try other games. They aren't cheap i don't think just set in their ways.
No Japanese support hardly at all from the fans. Halo players won't try a game like Forza. Madden players won't try a game like Gears or Quantum Break. Just big third party games and what they're used to. It's almost impossible for MS to keep paying and buying studios knowing the game has a low ROI.
It's like going new restaurants with your girl every week and she keeps buying chicken tenders everytime.

I totally agree, it's scary. In my opinion ever since the game was announced, it never gave the impression of having a smooth development process, it felt all over the place since the beginning and its eerily quiet twitter account does not help it. If it starts marketing after March it'll be too late since there won't be time to build hype since it is indeed slated for a spring release, the only way Crackdown 3 can really get out of this rut is if it's shipped with the Halo 6 beta just like the first game.

Fact of the matter is, Halo and Gears popularity will eventually end, it's only a matter of when, and if they haven't found new IP's by then that are at least as popular as Halo and Gears are now, they will be in a bad way. It's like Thomas Edison said, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.” Eventually they'll land on a new IP idea that the Xbox fanbase will like and support, they just have to keep trying. And they can't afford to just abandon the new IP's they've already tried this gen, Sunset and ReCore in particular have potential to grow more popular with subsequent installments, maybe not into Halo/Gears tier IP's, but they still have the potential to grow by at least 50% imo. |
I agree Shik but I also understand MS part. Totally agree about the dead IPs. I mean you make a fucking Super Lucky Tales instead of investing in a Conker. There is no way MS should ever be barren of exclusives with what they have in their chest.
Armature Studios are hiring, the job postings points to them working with Unreal Engine 4. Hopefully it's for Recore 2
