Shinobi said that they are working on another new IP, we don't know how far along that is though. Not hating on SOT it's just that i have zero confidence in the game and i'm still confused about the games goal/story/direction.

He said that their new IP is way off so don't expect it to be revealed anytime soon, I imagine the vast majority of Rare are on Sea of Thieves and they will still be on it after launch as it is a GaaS.

I hope they aren't using the fact that's it's a GaaS to launch it with little content, I think the game is fun but it needs more content and I keep hearing that it's just an Alpha and they'll be more content but the closer we get to launch, the more unlikely that looks, I didn't really see much new in this trailer either.

Regarding the Goal/Story/Direction, It doesn't really have a set one, It's literally just 'Make your own story' and be the best Pirate you can be so that others will hear about you, I still think it is a mistake that they aren't putting in Raid Bosses based on real Pirates.

They should not shut down Rare, the last thing that MS needs is more negative PR.

I agree, they can't really afford anymore negative PR but apparently SoT has a lot of money behind it so if it flops then I would be very worried about Rare.

I agree with Snoopy for the most part. I just don't see why they have teams working on these games that let's be honest more than likely won't sell shit. Sea of Thieves(im not sure what is going on totally either) and Super Lucky Tales. All this time put into these games could've been put into something with a decent chance.
I see MS side as putting games out period and catering to a wider audience. There's just no way I'm hitching my wagon to that. Lile i said it to me is just wasted resources for little ROI. Sea of Thieves has to be a hit IMO.

Disagree, If Microsoft worked on only games that sold well then we'd barely have any lineup at all throughout the entire gen and they'd be even more risk averse, I doubt we would see ReCore or Sunset Overdrive, there's plenty of old great games which wouldn't stand a chance at getting a sequel too, Microsoft needs to take a few hits to build their overall brand.

It's a rip off of a game, and the way the gaming media has been covering it is an absolute joke as well.....treating it as if all the expansions to the first game never existed.

I don't give a lick what Bungie calls their game.....shared world shooter, or whatever the fuck, the truth is it's an MMO. And when you make an MMO, you can't be releasing sequels/updates that like half the content you had previously. It's same shit different day with Bungie. All this talk about wanting to leave MS to pursue their passion project and shit, and this is the best they got......even the Destiny sub-reddit full of the game's hardcore fans are like yo wtf is your major malfunction? Talk about a dev going from being on top of the world to becoming an absolute joke.

Frankly, if you're giving them money at this point, you're a problem.

That Sea of Thieves controller though...

Well, I only paid 25 bucks for the game and I have no intent on buying the expansion, so far I'm enjoying the story though.

Bitrate, resolution...whatever, let's still upload our videos only at 1080p on Youtube to present our games as gaming companies

Out of all the games SE could possibly put on the Xbox One Romancing Saga would of been the last I'd of though they would do, Good none the less but weird how they decided to with this and not all the countless others that passed on releasing for Xbox One so far.

Wasn't gonna get Far Cry 5 anyway so I don't mind the SoT release date.

Before you dive headlong into Sea of Thieves' world, you can pick from a near-limitless supply of possible pirates, ensuring that whatever your preference may be, there's a way to define yourself in-game. The finer details – hairstyles and hooks, accessories and armaments – will fall into place as you play, with everything from the clothes you wear to the weapons you wield helping to express your personality and style.

There's no talking your way to infamy in Sea of Thieves! The only way to build a reputation with the region's Trading Companies is to successfully complete the voyages they offer at outposts. Getting the job done will net you an immediate reward, and the more voyages you vanquish the more you'll rise up through the Company's ranks, taking on trickier tasks, gaining their trust and earning yourself prestigious titles and unique items.

Every Trading Company is unique, as are the opportunities they offer. On one voyage you may be asked to acquire merchant cargo and safeguard it through perilous waters, while another will see you intent on hunting hostiles to claim a bounty. As their names become famed and their status ever more celebrated, well-practised pirates tend to set their sights on an even greater goal: tracking down the fabled Athena's Fortune!

-

The Trading Company Quests sound like they could be pretty fun, especially the safeguard and hunting quests (Could get ambushed or set your own traps, I imagine they'll be some temporary partnerships in SoT, until crews betray each other) and it gives you more stuff to do, I'm guessing the one of the main goals of SoT will be to track "Athena's Fortune"

The more I read and watch on this game, the more it's starting to draw me towards it.

Nice, I bought the retail version of Fallout 4 GOTY for 17€. Far cheaper than getting the DLCs seperately.
Now I just need to sell the regular version....

"Trimming the fat"? Right now Microsoft's first party studios collectively are like christian bell from the movie insomnia. Nothing left to shed

Here's a pic for reference
