Forums - Gaming - Who has the best exclusives in 2015? X1 or PS4

Ok. But 75% of the list of PS4 exclusives are just first time indie's, and most will crash and die. That's not quality. I have no problem with a decent indie, but some unknown indie isn't going to entice me. Some people may like indie's, but I just can't get into them. Also the Xbox Arcade last gen had plenty of them, but no one ever boasted about them (because few cared). Now, indie's are at the top of the industry. Sorry if you have a different opinion, but most the indie's on that list stink in my opinion.

I cared. Limbo and Trials HD were system sellers for me.

Indie games on your console can never be seen as a downside and even though not everyone loves them as much as I do they're great to have between big releases. Naturally I was excited to see lots of quality indies being announced for PS4 so I made this thread back in 2013.

Indie games always mattered and that's why a lot of PS owners spammed the hell out of Sony and indie devs in hope to get certain games released for their console. Especially in the beginning of 7th gen Xbox 360 was the best place to find indies and many PS owners wanted those games on PS as well.

But eventually PS3 did receive an awful lot of great indie games as well you know. Maybe that's why it wasn't as big of a topic as it is now where PS4 without question is the place to go for indie games.

In my opinion only 4 important indie games are missing on the PS3 and that's Bastion, Super Meat Boy, Torchlight and Shadow Complex. There are more than 4 indie games I would've missed without a PS3. These are just the "indies" I own on the PS3:

Beat Hazard Ultra
Beyond Good and Evil
BIT.TRIP Runner 2
Bomberman ULTRA

Brothers
Castle Crashers
Castle of Illusion

PS4 defiantly has the quantity but in 2015 Xbox has the quality. Your talking about the biggest gaming franchises being released in 2015 alone while PS4 has a lot of Unknown games and there's a good possibly those games can be bad.
Easy and safest answer is Xbox One. I game primary on Steam/PC and even though PC has the most exclusives in the gaming market, a lot of them are mediocre or just not worth playing.

PS4 Bloodborne, everyone gone to the rapture, rime and wild if they release this year.
X1 Halo 5, Tomb Raider, Ori, Forza 6 winner for me this year X1, since they have the best 1st-3rdperson survival shooter, platformer and racer.

Bloodborne is probaly the best exclusive and probaly GOTY for me.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Bolded: You're right about that. Though I think where a lot of people (especially on a dedicated site like this where casual and mainstream gamers are the minority) don't agree with you is regarding your "biggest blockbusters = highest quality".

Of course the broad mainstream market will buy Halo, Call of Duty and SW Battlefront in droves due to these games' unrivaled advertising budgets that put them on everybody's lips this holiday. So regarding biggest exclusive blockbusters, you're completely right that Microsoft has the upper hand this holiday with Halo, Forza and Tomb Raider.

But what about next year? Will you come out and shout blockbuster = quality again when Sony have what looks to be their greatest year in history regarding sales of PS exclusives?

Of Sony's 5 biggest IPs, 3 have a 2016 installment. Additionally we have Street Fighter V, the new IPs from Guerrilla Games, Bend, Media Molecule, etc. and the prominent exclusive JRPGs from Level-5, Atlus, Square Enix, etc.

1 Gran Turismo (installment in 2016)

2 Uncharted (installment in 2016)

3 The Last of Us

4 God of War

5 Ratchet & Clank (installment in 2016)

Why are you so intent on putting indie games together like they are all the same? Some indies have AAA scope and quality. Some are small and simple. And then you have everything in between that cover a lot of genres.

It's just plain wrong that you see a game as "indie" rather than a individual title. A game being retail does not ensure you get a quality product. Far from it.

Also stop making up stuff. 75% first time indies? Please feel free to point out this 75%. I see a lot of games by experienced indies, a few popular Japanese games, games made by big game studios and games made by/helped made by Sony's WWS.

Look I get it, you do not like the games but you will not get respect for your opinions if you don't show respect the way you put across your opinions. Couple that with the fact that you put across your opinions like they are fact sometimes and come up with complete false stats like the one highlighted in this comment.

And " indie " means nothing nowadays, by definition, Quantum Break is as much indie than Rime or Tomorrow Children, funded/published/owned by Microsoft/Sony and a lot of people are not clever enough( to be polite ) to see that and still call Rime/TC indie games .

For a lot of people with limited logic, in their mind, an indie game is a digital game but it is of course wrong by definition.

An indie game is independant, nothing more, nothing less

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

As it stands PS4 has it in the bag IMO, I'm sure Sony will add big Fall games to the list at E3 after Andrew House's comments, but so far Bloodborne (no longer niche because of it's sales), Tearaway Unfolded (the vita game was a Game of the Year contender and the new one has tonnes more to do and vastly improved gameplay), Rime, Fat Princess Adventures, Kill Strain looks very interesting and another new IP, the list is pretty enormous and much more interesting and fun than what XBox One has to offer IMO.

It's only Halo 5 and Forza 6 on Xbox One, Fable can be played on PC, Rise of The Tomb Raider is coming to 360 this year, will definitely be on PS4 next year.
2 exclusives for an entire year is truly sparse IMO and having to wait more than a year for something from 1st Party is downright disgusting business practice from Microsoft IMO!

I am not sure why you are saying waiting 1 year for a first party title from Microsoft is considered "disgusting", Sony is in a similar position as well we know how the Order scored which isn't good while Bloodbourne is still just one game from a niche genre(remember Andrew House even admits that their lineup is Sparse (even with the release of Bloodbourne). Those other games you mention aren't really interesting for many people and games like Halo 5 are more interesting than anything games Sony is offering IMO!

Also don't forget that Microsoft will announced more games at E3 with a possibility of a game being release this holiday with Halo 5 and Forza 6.
