There's a bit of revisionist history going on, but it wasn't an amazing conference. 

Bloodborne was announced, they had some great gameplay trailer for big titles (MKX, Destiny, tons of indie/SCE partnerships, Batman, No Man's Sky, etc), and finished with the Uncharted 4 announcement and trailer. 

Edit: Looking back, they also announced Dead Island 2, Rainbow 6 Siege, and LittleBigPlanet 3. The gameplay trailer for MGS5 was also amazing.

It's not so different, but I would translate with less emphasis and humility regarding the "I think" because of the past continuous and the very common way to say it : "It came this year too ! I used to think last year was the best ever, but I feel that this year will surpass it!"

That doesn't sound like it was bad at all, I do definitely remember the Uncharted footage but not the rest (forums here talked about U4 footage a lot) but last years doesn't sound like it was that underwhelming.

In the days of the Internet, people will always ne disappointed. They could announce Shenmue 3 and People would still be disappointed because there was no Half-Life 3 or GTA 6 exclusive shit or sonething. People always expect Gigatons, Megatons aren't enough anymore.
