I can agree with this statement, and that is why I like Nintendo generally.
The whole "Nintendo is doing their own thing" saying always seemed like an excuse to me from people that didn't want to accept that the Wii destroyed everything last generation.

While it did, I do feel it did do its own thing, and that is what makes that company unique.

No matter which way you want to look at it, a gaming console is part of the gaming industry. The big 3 are competing with each other, directly or indirectly. Doesn't matter if Nintendo screwed up or MSony are a step ahead, they are trying to get the support of 3rd parties, appeal to the same market, etc.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I totally agree with that statement, just that Nintendo has a unique image. However the way that the people word it, they do act like Nintendo is in a different market space, and that isn't correct.

We dont need 3 consoles at all period.
We have a PC that PC is 90% identical to PS4 and XBO. And then we have Nintendo which is like the complete opposite and they always bring something new to the table.
In a perfect world we would have 1 device that plays all but in the next best thing to a perfect world there would be

My thoughts exactly. I want them to develop a console on par with current gen consoles to compete with Sony and MS, but maintain that Nintendo quirkiness and high quality.
It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

I'll never understand it either. Its not a good way of thinking about it and you can tell the person doesn't follow nintendo when they assume things like this.
