We dont need 3 consoles at all period.
We have a PC that PC is 90% identical to PS4 and XBO. And then we have Nintendo which is like the complete opposite and they always bring something new to the table.
In a perfect world we would have 1 device that plays all but in the next best thing to a perfect world there would be
- PC (with Sony and Microsoft games) (do them like Bluray players. Every single player is identical when it comes to the most important features but they differ in built quality, extra features like 3D support, input devices, size, design, backwards compatibility features like different upscaler chips or PSNow, smart-tv functionality number of connectors like HDMI component or optical audio out. etc etc etc)
- NINTENDO with their new innovations. ( Sony and MS games are also welcome here)
- Smart devices
