Seems like an odd choice, but I guess it doesn't matter. It's not like the two versions are different in any way.

The gameplay and story is the same but the performance and quality of the game will be diffenrent on every platform.

That's true, though I don't think the performance will be much of a difference between the two, at least in terms of being a deal breaker... : I

What is strange is that every article(not just reviews) mentions the PS4 in it. Just look at The Witcher III articles on N4G, all PS4. This in effect gives off the impression that it is a game exclusive(or at least strongly tied to) the PS4 which it is neither. Could it be the publisher trying to find a loophole out of the Microsoft marketing exclusivity deal and trying to get the most of both markets?

It's not strange that they (the media) mainly or only mention the PS4 when that's the only version thay've tried.

I mean the choice of the developer/publisher giving the media copies of the PS4... That to me is strange. I could not imagine Activision giving Xbox 1 copies of Destiny for media to review and no PS4 copies considering the deal they had with Sony. Just a bit strange to me.

Because some gamers are expecting way to much from the PC version and the Xone version is probably inferior....

I mean Im certain that the PC version will destroy tech wise the console ones, but don't expect "never before seen" realism.

Perhaps. No one really knows. No one has tried the final version of the Xb1 or PC version. And the PS4 version has apparently also received an optimisation patch since the reviews went out.

Tbh I once expected great things from CDPR, then this happens and the downgrades talk, images and dicussions going on and CDPR staying all hush hush while not throwing out monumental evidence to shut up all talks, now I just don't care as much as I used to because I know for a fact the PC version is downgraded in some horrible manner and they are definitely going to try hiding it or just pulling up Southpark's "we're sorry" and hope everything goes well, it won't though because the original hardcore fans are going to disect the game and spot every nook and cranny with a magnifying glass.

Of course they won't outwardly explain why the reason the game is being downgraded for it's main platform, I want them to explain in great no bs detail but I don't think they will ebcause we know exactly what path we'd be taking then.

But whatevs, in the end it's going to be downgraded and I'll buy it at a cheaper price later on or get it free with a 980, if there hadn't been a downgrade and PC reviews were out then I'd be supporting them day 1.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

This is not an unusual concept. Last gen plenty of games had nearly double the amount of reviews for the 360 version.

In this case however, I can see the studio is playing a game. And its a dirty one. I wont be buying anything from CDP.

I noticed last generation a lot of multiplat games were heavily reviewed on the X360 with less reviews on the PS3.

And even though the PS3 sometimes were the allegedly "lesser" version of the two, it ended up having the higher score on metacritic, probably due less exposure to click-bait reviews.

Or maybe because the ps3 had more and better exclusives than the X360? Dark Souls 2 for the Xbox One got also a better score than the PS4 version dueto the PS4 having Bloodborne as alternative, obviously

As the developer expressed, the XB1 version needed extra tuning (still trying to get to an agreement on which sections will run at 900p and which ones will scale to 1080p)

Knowing that the PS4 version also needs a day 1 patch to control the frame rate dips. That leaves us with PC as the obvious choice right?

Either the developer wanted every review to be standard (same hardware for everyone) or there are optimization issues on PC that could generate negatives reviews. We will see whats going on when the game releases.

How is that odd? Why would they want to give out the inferior version? One might think they want reviewers to have the best first impression possible. The PS4 reviews will sell the game on X1 regardless.

I agree, but Microsoft has a marketing deal for the game so you'd think they wanna have XB1 reviews.
