Isn't Catherine a SMT spin-off?

Don't think so, I think they hinted at the game in one of the previous persona games.

P3P, yes.

Ys?

There was recently Memories of Celceta on Vita, and Ys 8 is coming to PS4 and Vita next year.

Didn't know it was being made for PS4 as well. Guess I can remove that one, but I wasn't counting franchsies that exist in handheld space still. Right now I will add Phantasy Star and Valkyrie Profile.

Does Golden Sun count?

Shining force is another!
The ironic thing about shining force is it died after releasing its best games shining force 3 part 1, 2 and 3. Brilliant interlocked stories and likeable characters. I'd love a complete remake of Shining force 3s

PSN ID: Stokesy

Add me if you want but let me know youre from this website

Adding 5th generation titles as well.

Grandia II was amazing, perhaps the best combat system in any JRPG I ever played.

Nah I didn't count things that still exist on handhelds space, because if I added handhelds, I get a lot of spinoff of franchises that aren't as great. Plus the DS is only one generation behind while 5th-6th generation are two generations behind.

Ugh

- .Hack is actually not dead. There was a PSP installment and Guilty Dragon which is part of the series.

- Breath ofFire was annouced awhile ago.

- Grandia is not dead. G2 just got a PC announcement. Also it had a recent cross over

- Xeno is not dead. Xenoblade? It is just like how Saga continued gears. You also have to remember Xenosaga concluded.

The only legimate dead JRPG up there is Legend of Legia. A dead IP is one with NO POTENTIAL to return. As long as it is being used in some form it is not dead

Three bigger series.

- MANA/Seiken Densetsu
- Valkyrie Profile
- Phantasy Star (unless you include the collection released for the PS360 and Virtual Console releases.)

I thought the Mana series didn't make it to the sixth generation? Given I might have to extend the area to cover 5th. I noticed a couple disappear.

Dawn of Mana released for the PS2. Wasn't that great of a game though from what I've read.

You forgot breath of fire

Edit: ahh okay you just posted the least loved one
