This is how I noticed the bad music; I was watching a stream of the game but noticed that the music playing wasn't synching up with the game, so I asked the streamer what was up. So she turned off her dubstep music and turned on the actual gaming sound. Everything was fine and dandy. I was enjoying the stream when all of a sudden she got into a battle and someone started to rap. That pulled me out of the moment in a heart beat. After that was done she went to NLA and we got a pretty funky beat going on, when all of a sudden some one's starting to drop rap beats in the middle of it. Again, I'm pulled out of the moment. So, it's not like I've decided to dislike the music from the get go. Certain elements in the music pulled me out of my enjoyment of the stream, which lead me to check up more songs on youtube and found a bunch more of ear pollution... This is the opposite of what game music should do.

Yeah, i listened to it. Its not a deal breaker in any way and i can see it fitting the vibe.

I personally prefer the instrumental version aswell, but i wouldnt go around saying it sucks. I wouldnt be able to enjoy the Persona series if i did.

Kinda reminds me of Sonic Adventure 2 & Metal Gear Rising. With vocal is can be pretty annoying/weird(or it could be good for example Metal Gear Solid 1), what can i say.

I like the 4th one.

I know. The hip hop rap crap has no reason to exist in my SciFi game. Its really clashing.

Most songs that have vocals in Xenoblade X suck really bad.

Only the ones that have a choir or so and 1 or two with a female singer are okay.

Lets tell Nintendo to make the vocals optional and to implement a  "orchestral" option in the sound menu.

Well, it sucks to me since it rips me out of the moment and ruins my experience while doing so :P

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Seems wildly uneven so far; as much as some tracks suck, there's also epic ones like these:

Heck, I even quite like this one, vocals and all:

Satorl Marsh night music is the only vocal track I accept. It can be played the whole game long.

Also, on the original XC, I disliked quite a lot of the music. However, since it was not annoying, I was ok with it.

This is the style of Hiroyuki Sawano. He frequelntly mixes vocals and rap in his music. One of the most prominent examples is this.

It's not the best style but at least he's consistent.

If songs with lyrics didn't bother me in games like TWEWY (in fact I enjoyed them a lot), I doubt they will do in this one.

Yes, those songs are rather bad. Vocals get annoying quite fast.

Which is odd considering Xenoblade's music was so amazing.

Yeah was never a fan of vocals in video game ost's. Jet Set Radio is the only game where it works.
