Well, there you go, unified library isn't happening.

I try not to be negative, I really do, but how can I not be when Nintendo constantly do retarded stuff like this?

Nintendo Says It Will Support The Nintendo 3DS Beyond 2018

“The way we continue to make Nintendo 3DS vibrant as a platform is first we continue to innovate from form factor standpoint. So the New 2DS XL is just the latest for us in having form factor innovation. We know colors are a key differentiator, consumers love the variety of different colors. And also the larger screen and the different form factor in the 2DS family, we think is a going to drive and continue to drive the 3DS platform.”

“We’re going to continue to bring new content, and that’s what’s going to keep this device vibrant and keep it going well into 2018 and beyond.”

“We say that it’s a home console that you take with you and play with anyone, anywhere, anytime. It really is meant to deliver that great home console performance, you just happen to be able to undock it and take it with you, which is a key innovation,” Fils-Aime said. “But look, in the end, what we want is we want the consumer to call it their device, right? Their preferred gaming device that they can play fantastic Zelda, Mario, third-party content, all of their favorite franchises brought to life on the platform. That’s what we want. And we’re greedy and we want Nintendo 3DS right alongside it.”

Ugh, fuck right off with that shit Nintendo.

The whole point of the Switch is to unify your userbase and avoid game droughts by putting all your software onto one platform. The 3DS has had its day, let it die as nature intended. All it's doing at this point is taking games away from Switch and making them worse because of the inferior hardware.

Spotlight had ZERO 3DS games and the only significant and truly new game coming to it alone is the new Metroid out in a few months.  Reggie doth protest too much me thinks.  With their mouth they say one thing, but their actions speak contrary and far louder.

As for why they said this, the New 2DS XL is launching next month and they want it to sell.

Seriously, Nintendo makes this statement with every handheld right before they more or less drop it.

I pray you're right. I don't want another two plus years of software support being split in half across two platforms, with those that fall on the 3DS side being held back from being as good as they could've been on Switch.

Hopefully this have the same meaning as the Wii U one...... lol

I mean we have the next
- FE, Metroid, Kirby, Yoshi, Mario, Pokemon on the Switch.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I didn't want to believe them the first time they said this, but they clearly weren't kidding. I suppose this could mean next year's Pokemon game will be on the 3DS then. Lame but understandable if they want Switch's fiirst Pokemon game to be a new gen, since if it released next year Gen 7 would of only lasted 2 years.

Yeah still no unified library, but despite this Nintendo still managed to have a game a month not even counting 3rd partys or Indys, and they've made it clear that all their series will inevitably be moving to Switch, so I'm not worried at all.

I already know I love it from the testpunch, now if Amazon would just send me the game already!

In the meantime I decided to play Splatoon one last time. Gotta make the most out of the Slosh+Burst combo, invincibility specials, and the Inkzooka since all that fun but OP stuff is gone in the sequel hehe.

Gonna enjoy more 3DS games with an added seasoning of salt from this site, good stuff.
