I mean they ONLY reason these statements from some of these devs makes me SLIGHTLY more hopeful than usual (and I mean SLIGHTLY) is that unlike with the Wii U, they aren't on stage doing this. But still, actions will be the real indicator if any of this means anything.

I think the big difference here (Yves's statements) is that he is comparing NX to something else (whatever that is) and that's what's different from his comments regarding Wii U.

Personally i don't believe the "back in the race" is towards something specific like the home console segment. Given his past comments of casual gamers and EA's comments saying it won't appeal to PS4 gamers and that NX is to upgrade mobile gamers, the "race" is talking about is something more generic, as in, Nintendo is again a serious competitor in the gaming industry (both mobile and traditional gaming) with NX.

Has there been any update on Fast Racing NEO coming to retail? I can't seem to recall anything

It's out in Europe/Australia/New Zealand tomorrow.

No word on America yet; you can blame Nintendo for that, apparently the retail release was Nintendo of Europe's idea and Nintendo of America didn't get on board with it.

Yeah, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Nintendo of America can be kinda sucky sometimes. But hey, you guys still get the DLC tomorrow at least.
