Yes. I'll never support DRM.
I'm now filled with determination.
The EA and Ubisoft logos are usually enough incentive to turn me off of a game. The Origin/Uplay DRM only makes me feel that much better in my decision to avoid those companies' products.
Yep. After dealing with Uplay when trying to play Far Cry 3, I swore I would never buy another PC game that required Uplay, and I've stuck to that. I've never bought a game on Origin either.
P.S. Uplay can eat a dick and die tonight.
P.S. 2 I just remembered (because I probably blocked it out of my brain), spending 4 days with EA's customer service to try and get my account password and email reset for my origin account when Dragon Age: Inquisition came out.
I am the Playstation Avenger.

So you only buy games from GoG?
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
I don't buy EA games either way, but yes, I haven't bought games that require Uplay.
I never bought Anno 2070 even though the Anno series is one of my favorites and is consistently good. I'm sure 2070 is good as well but I can't support a game of which I can't be sure it works indefinitely. I don't 'rent' games when I buy them, which is what DRM effectively comes down to. These are games I would play for decades.
I don't even buy games when they require steam. I don't want additional software just to play a game. So I only use the Mac App Store. Good thing I'm barely playing any PC games.

With some people I understand they have problems, but even without problems I just don't want to be forced into additional accounts and especially not additional software to play a game I already bought through another DRM system (ie Steam)
I haven't used the Origin software/client or whatever it is but did have to make an account (I believe it was actually a BioWare account that they merged into Origin). As mentioned earlier I do have UPlay, I have used it (though not to buy a game through) and yes it does have issues connecting to the server sometimes, and has failed to complete updates (which then stops you playing until it completes the update). Luckily though the two games I have tied to UPlay were years after release so Ubisoft had backed down regarding the always online requirement, which I suspect would have caused far more issues.
I have had a few issues with Steam in the past too (slow updates, and one failed update to Half-Life:Source meant I had to delete & re-install the game) but the frequency of issues with UPlay is way out of proportion in comparison.
Yes. It always stops me from buying games.
Even "free" games like the stuff on Humble Bundle.
If it requires me to use a DRM client, I don't buy it.
It has never stopped me from buying a game, but it has certainly stopped me from PLAYING a game. Heroes 6 could be a nightmare, Uplay-servers were often unstable and if they lost connection (and it was only Uplay, no other game or service had problems) then the game would instantly quit to the main menu. There is an autosave every new day in heroes, but late game, doing 2-3 MAJOR battles that might take half an hour or more each, and then losing everything because their fucking servers are shit? That is disgusting...

"Was wondering if this was common. So did you ever got a game on a different system , or just outright avoided it because of Origin/Uplay, etc?"
Yes often.
