Forums - Gaming - Bethesda will announce a multiplat (but sadly also crossgen) RPG at E3.

I don't think Bethesda's games really have a problem with being on older platforms as well. They're already huge. At worst this means we'll still have short loading screens when moving from town to building and vice versa. It would be better without that, but it's not too bad. But other than that, Bethesda's games should already scale really well, and I doubt they've been able to innovate too much since Skyrim anyway, meaning there shouldn't, strictly speaking, be any actual need for more power.

Very disappointing

I hope they were suitably ashamed and maaybe even learned something from the ESV PS3 debacle. Cross gen is a bit disappointing but there should be at least some benefits in loading and visuals even on my horribly inadequate XOne. :p

I've been hoping just one dev would let me change weapons or set quest markers with voice or gesture commands. Fat chance now I quess.

Anyway, as long as this is Fallout: Beantown I'll be pretty happy. It's about time.

Not sure where I am on the Bethesda Studios vs. Obsidian thingy. Vegas had some depth and a bit of an edge or m grit (like sand in your teeth) that F3 lacked but it had twice as many bugs. So a lot.

If FO4 is also on PS360 then I wont buy it full price. Around this time of last gen Oblivion and FO3 were both current gen. It's only natural they should focus on the new consoles, they even have a bigger install base than the last consoles for the same period.

Down ports are bad as well, no way would a game made with 5-6GB ram in mind fit on consoles with ~450MB. One area affected would be geometry and environments, compromises have to be made for both versions.

Yey. So millions more get to experience the glitchfest! woot!

I don't think Fallout 4 will come to last gen. I mean, that list could mean anything. They could also bring some kind of collection or something, or even Skyrim Remastered for PS4 and X1. I mean, those ports are popping everywhere this gen. We might not see Fallout 4 at all at E3, we heard rumours for announcements countless times in the past. So keep your hype level moderate please.

PC version aside, Sony is going to have the best AND worst version by quite a bit. PS4 compared to PS3 version is surely going to feel like a generational difference.

Has got to be a new Fallout in skyrim's engine then. I dont see them releasing another elder scrolls with the same engine.

With that said... i wouldnt mind if it was another elder scrolls. Whatever it is... i want it this fall on the PS4 (dont want all those long loading times).

Good news, higher installbase so better it is for the games

Where do you know? there are dozzens of examples where ps3 run equally or better than 360. and if it runs worse its ussually just 5 frames less on average.
