Not necessarily, there are likely to be exit clauses that would get Disney out of the contract if the game performs badly. Disney wants revenue and reputation from this game, if EA fails them om both accounts the contract could be terminated with extreme prejudice.
Without an actual story campaign the game feels thin to me. They compensated with SP and offline coop missions, but it's not the same. I think this will affect sales, I'm just not sure by how much. Going up against Halo, with a well loved story, and even Blops3 which will have a story, is pretty tough.
However the OP suggesting EA's had a bad track record in recent years doesn;t sith with my experience, especially if you're going back to Dragon Age: Origins. I liked Mass Effect 2 and 3 plenty, and Dragon Age Inquisition is great too. Having said that the only EA games I like are from Bioware, so as Battlefront is not from Bioware there is definitely an unknown quantity from my prespective.
