I know what are you talking about and I picked up Wii for this game. Saw this game used at local shop and immediately picked up Wii. Played it and then sold it.

But Bayo did have a chance, so did DA:I/SSB and i forgot the other one. Dunno why people laughed at you though unless your talking about 2-3 nintendo fans because DA had a good chance.
As for Witcher 3, lets not act like its guaranteed. High chance, but to say not a single game will take the spot? You better hope every reviewer picks it with such a claim...

Splatoon looks like a lot of fun, but it is somewhat limited in scope. I really can't see it scoring more than 85. Moreover, it's a colorful and "cute" game and the game community seems not to care too much about that kind of games as of late, for better or worse.
Definitely have to go with Bloodborne. Batman and Metal Gear also.

I have a feeling if Splatoon gets a 85-89 on meta, somebody going to bump this thread and downplay my suggestionof Splatoon being a contender :-/

My prediction is 85, I think that´s an awesome score for a game like Splatoon. But somethong like 89 is not impossible at all. It depends on the amount of modes and how good the single campaign is (I think is going to be a great single campaign).
On the future they can downplay us together now, or... maybe not :)

I have the feeling that may people don't trust Persona 5 to be a nice GOTY contender... I would say these games will be probably GOTY material:
Bloodborne, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Batman Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V, Persona 5.
I would say Splatoon or Yoshi could be my personal GOTYs, but I don't see reviewers claiming Yoshi or Splatoon GOTY. People would eat them alive. And the most important publications don't want that to happen.
Last year was shameful. Dragon Age: Inquisition is not a better game than Dark Souls II or Bayo 2, but... I don't trust reviewers GOTY a lot.
