I know there is no relation, but still, I can't help myself to think that someone @ MonolithSoft loves Evangelion :)

I'm so customising a Doll with Eva 01 colours :P

THIS! That's the first thing I will do when I put my hands on a doll. Maybe that was too obvious, because of my avatar lol

The auto attacks play a very minor role in the overall strategy and flow of battle if Xenoblade is anything to go by

Well, I've tried to play Xenoblade three times already with the same result, I always end up leaving it between the 3 - 4hs mark due to the same problem, my level of tolerance with it is really low.

I hear you, the 1st time I played it, the same happened to me, it didn't click, I gave up after 5 hours, a few months later after seeing some vids on Youtube (thxhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIJ6_pI8ZBc_xVMPYzwQz9g ), I tried again & oh my freakin' God!!!

Do yourself a favor, search the web (gamefaqs, youtube...) to learn how the gameplay works, once you get it & you pass the 1st somewhat plain 5/6 hours, the game starts being amazing, keeps on & go on to be a masterpiece.

Play it until the Colony 9 attack & the face-off with Metal Face (not the intro), if by then the game hasn't click with you, then you can say you gave it a fair shot!

What exactly is your problem with it? After you get a few arts, combat becomes really active. You need to think about positioning and Break-Topple-Daze chaining with your arts. Most of the time when I play I don't even think about auto attacks.

I guess I'm just used to turn-based JRPGs or games were I've full control of the things my character does in combats (like Tales of or Star Ocean games) , an hybrid between both doesn't work for me. Seeing my character more than once swing his sword to cut air when I was trying to avoid an attack was also a deciding factor.

I doubt I'll be able to stomach the gameplay, it's sad really, because the world looked amazing  and I'm sure that the story and characters are great too.

Ah, i'll give you that the "hit detection" (or lackthereof) can be a little strange to look at. In some ways it is like a lot of turn based games, because when you perform your attack, you have a percentage change to miss as opposed to only missing if you literally miss like most real time systems. That does seem to be mitigated to some extent by the ranged/melee system in XCX making you switch to a gun if you get out of melee range, hopefully avoiding the weird "swinging at air" animations.

To me that was never much more than a very minor gripe and I'm surprised that it was enough to turn you away, but to each their own.

Wow. Looks epic. I so much wanna play it! Nintendo, just cut the price of the bloody Wii U already.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Yeah, I know it's strange, but that's what happened to me. Thanks for your input, I still have the game and plan to buy XCX eventually (if only just to support it because a game that looks like this deserves the support) so maybe I'll give the series another try someday.

Now that we are all beyond ready for this game to release, Reggie will come out next week and declare that XCX won t sell in North American therefore it will only release in Japan and Europe

At what price would u buy it? I'm thinking they will drop it to $249.99 in September to go along with Mario Maker, I'm expecing this game to come out sometime around then as well.
