Forums - Nintendo - "Link your Nintendo account" option on Black Ops 3 website

If it's Treyarch's turn this year then it's plausible as they have little to no issue developing on Nintendo's platform.

That being said, this would be the first time that a CoD was announced for a Nintendo platform simultaneously with the reveal for other platforms (assuming that they wouldn't put this up with the Nintendo option if they were going to hold off on the Nintendo platform announcement until later). Maybe for once a Nintendo platform version will actually get advertised?

I'm probably expecting too much of Activision, actually.

Anyway, if it comes, and it's not massively gimped, I'll support it. I have little love for Activision, but I have respect for Treyarch.

It's for the NX, don't be silly guys!

Activision is one of the biggest supporter of the WiiU. They might be dicks sometimes, but they have some smart businessmen.

They might take a small hit in profit, but releasing COD on the WiiU is a pretty smart move. No competition from EA and making COD a household name for Nintendo fans.

Treyarch did always like Nintendo. Treyarch is the only CoD developer I trust in making a competent multiplayer game.

COD history on Nintendo consoles.

COD sold okay on Gamecube.
COD sold very good on Wii (almost as good on Wii as on 360 even tho the 360 was our 1 year earlier)
COD MW1 was 1 year late on Wii and it was the most important COD because it made it famous.(the whole COD boom skipped Nintendo platforms because of that)
Since then like half or a third or so skip Nintendo platforms.

Why the hell would any person that likes COD keep playing it on Nintendo platforms if the next installment is going to skip the system anyway? They just moved on or stopped bothering alltogether.

Activision made COD going from "popular on Nintendo" to "not worth it on Nintendo"

Their next game will then again be used as "noone buys our games so the next one will skip the system again". excuse.

What are you on about...?

I think he's talking about Call of Duty 3.

I hope it is not for Wii U because they said they leave behind X360 and PS3 to take full advantage of PC, XOne and ps4's hardware, it wouldn't make sense to release it on the Wii U (unless the Wii U and 360/ps3 versions are being made by another studio that isn't treyarch).

It makes complete sense to release on wii u.

Assuming they're targeting 1080p/60fps again (and assuming it is 8th gen only), a WiiU version shouldn't hold it back. It might be fairly lacking on the raw power front, but it's capable of most of the same hardware features as the PS4 and X1. Performance and asset reduction should be all they'd need to do (outside of re-working the engine for the WiiU's architecture).

There are a handful of things they could do at 1080p/60fps which would make porting to the WiiU difficult, but nothing we're likely to see in a COD game.

That said, if they're making a WiiU version they might decide to port it to the PS3 and 360 anyway. If they're making proper use of the PS4 and X1's hardware it would probably be quite a difficult port, but almost any port is possible if you're willing to strip the game down enough.

Why? There's a big gap between Wii U and ps360. The wii u inclusion has no relation with a ps360 inclusion.

What if Activision is allowing the WiiU version because they think Splatoon might popularise the FPS games on Nintendo consoles again?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

PS4/XBO/PS3/360/WiiU release then. It's not gonna be on WiiU and not on ps3/360.

There's absolutely nothing that supports this idea. Actually, it makes more sense to skip ps360. This way the game isn't limited and they can use the extra staff to make the game better instead of two extra ports.
