I say the Medal of Honor series cause I feel like EA wanted it to sell a lot more than it did

Maybe a little in Japan (although releasing one year after the DS version wasn't smart at all) but I'm pretty sure it exceeded expectations in the west by quite a lot.

Never heard EA or Respawn saying Titanfall was supposed to be the next Cod, in fact I don't think any dev has ever said that. |

Looking at the numbers, it seems like it performed really well in the west. Kinda reminds me of Xenoblade in that sense.

Well we dont know but im sure SSBU didn't fail at all^ Maybe underperformed but again it did extremely well on the 3ds side and i bet Nintendo was expecting it to do more in the west (which it did!)
Again 3.39mil is huge. Most people didn't expect it to sell all that high anywayz :o

Smash 4 Wii U
Starhawk PS3

I'm sure that Dragon Age II didn't meet EA's expectations.
Bayonetta (The game failed to meet Platinum Games' sales expectations)
I think Ryse did too, we didn't get any official numbers from Crytek, but they had some financial problems after that game came out. It was either Ryse or Crysis 3, probably Ryse.

Smash WiiU sold 3.39mil..... In 2 months, if that is a fail, then 90% of games failed. TBH i think Nintendo is very happy with those sales. Overall SSB did 9.6mil..... Thats a freaking lot bro

I'm gonna guess the Crysis series and Ryse were funded by their publishers. So I doubt those are the problems.
Sometimes studios waste money on products they never release. Maybe something like Homefront. Also, they Crytek spend a lot of money developing the Cryengine but few studios are using it.
