The PS4 has what the PS2 didn't - competition. The OUYA is just too popular to allow the PS4 to pass the 100M mark let alone 150M.
PS3 wasn't as successful because Sony fumbled the ball and MS were right there to pick it up offering the right product at the right price with the right software.
Microsoft have repeated very similar mistakes to Sony this time around, and again, Sony were there with exactly the right product to grab the ball back.

It is going to own the US market as it will Japan, its done well enough with no price cut and running of secdondary exclusives. Nothing top teir yet. X1 is to weak to stop it and do we even have to mentionn the wiiu.
What little less it sales there it will more then make up for in other markets. PS4 is taking many Euro makrets as if it was PS2 on roids. While in many places here gaming has grown considerably and pretty much all the growth is PS console sales.

Irrelevent, what those two duds do is pretty meaningless and should be clear to most as far as PS4 sales are concerned.
I cant see it. Currently looking at the specs of these consoles this generation is not going to last long. Even 8-9 years of the last generation was severly a mistake. I expect we will see new consoles by 2018 so unless ps4 sells amazinglyi do t see it

Selling less majority of the months, what is it 12 to 3 or something.
Relying on heavy discounts and losses = a dud any way you want to argue it.
It will not come anywhere near PS2 levels but it will have impressive sales indeed.

There will be no need for a new gen quickly, what ever the jump in specs it will have a marginal effect on the games.
Snes to PS to PS2 to PS3, such massive leaps are a thing of the past now.

Pretty much this. The PS4 hasn't done anything particularly exceptional (no one has, really), but it's exactly what the market wanted. Couple that with PlayStation's brand strength and Sony being the only ones to not shoot themselves in the foot, and it's easy to understand why the PS4 is selling so well.
OT: The PS2 was the result of near perfect circumstances (DVD, unrivaled support, little competition, slow start for HD, etc), the chances of the PS4 reaching that level of success are tiny (assuming it has any chance at all, which I doubt). The PS1/Wii's 100 million is a much more reasonable goal.
