I guess you mean with a release date cause Xenoblade X, starfox, devil's third and yoshi are still a thing.

I dont understand the sudden panic. Is this just because of the zelda delay?

 

Tell me, what do the PS4 and X1 have after the witcher 3? Maybe Halo on Xbox if it doesnt get delayed aswell. What else? This selectiveness really has to stop.

Or maybe Nintendo has accepted that they're likely not going to get great third party support for the NX early on and as such they have to carry the load early and sell the machine quickly out of the gates. I think some third parties at this point are just in the "fool me once, fool me twice" etc. category with Nintendo, they've tried it multiple times with Nintendo and now they aren't going to give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt. 

So Nintendo knows if they're going to build this NX thing they need to carry it at least early in the life cycle ... so maybe we'll see stuff like Zelda and a 3D Mario maybe early on. Bring the big guns early and try to establish as good of an install base as you can ... then maybe third parties may be amenable if there is a proven userbase, but not before. 


The first step to gaining third party acceptance is creating a console that wont dumb down current gen games. A new console can meet those end. Anything else can be furnished if they want to get anywhere with any form of longevity. They are moving with the legs of Sega of America right now, but unlike Sega theres no third party left for them to piss off.

Agreed.
It is a disgusting way to treat your paying customers; keep them in the dark for months with only B-list scraps to sustain them, then delay their most anticipated game without so much as a Direct to cushion the blow.
We don't have a single solid release date from them right now, not one.
I am very rapidly losing patience with Nintendo, they have pushed their luck too far.

Losing your patience won't make Zelda release any sooner. Considering the old 'watched pot' adage, it will actually do the opposite.

@underlined: Batman: Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V, Mortal Kombat X, a shit ton of other third party games and their respective exclusives.

Handhelds are different though. But I do agree about the Wii, even if it was an anomaly.

MKX comes out before the witcher. Fine, they have Batman, wich isnt everyone's cup of tea and Metal gear prequal. None of wich are exclusives.

You first listed the Witcher, I just followed through and added other big third party games off the top of my head. Also, when comparing libraries against the Wii U third parties do count in favor of the PS4 and XBO.

Well we will likely receive one sometime in April to detail MK8's second DLC.

I guess they can show off other titles too such as Yoshi's Woolly World, and possibly announce new games and amiibos.
