Forums - Gaming - [IGN ARTICLE] HOW AND WHY BLOODBORNE LOST ME - (This is not the review)

Seriously Bloodborne's essence is opposing that. You miss that, you miss everything about this game.

Come again... What's he actually missing?

P.S. For me the Souls games weren't really hard - but they were booooring as fuck. On the other hand, there's something special about Bloodborne... don't know what... I find it attractive and I don't know why.

Ex Graphics Whore.

What I love about his rant is that he blames the game for him not being able to keep his cool and then playing reckless. He also says the game punishes you for exploration, meanwhile that is factually incorrect. One thing the Souls games are well known for is rewarding exploration.

I doubt he did half the things he claimed, because if he did then he would have found the shortcut, let alone learned that he could just sprint past all those enemies in the opening areas and go straight to the boss. But no, instead he spreads false information about the game forcing you to always fight your way through all the enemies.

In his article he admits to being the real problem and not the game, although I don't believe he realized that.

I'm shocked that he was given a 2 page platform to spread FUD and admit his shortcomings, let alone use it to give IGN readers and potential Bloodborne purchasers misleading information. Not to mention they allowed him to do this ahead of the actual review.

Oh yeah, whats with the "enlarged excessive masturbation arm" quote? Can he be more childish?

The entire article comes off as very unprofessional to me. How is he an editor?

Welcome to gaming journalism.

The rookie wasn't ready! Quit after the Cleric Beast?! He didn't even use the shortcut to get there after he died..did he find it at least.. in 12 hours?

Unfortunately he did not, and when someone brought it up to him he once again said he must have missed it due to poor game design.

The guy is a joke and so is this article.

Sounds exactly like my first encounter with Dark Souls. I started over after 22 hours, screwed up my character, didn't know you could jump, didn't find half the shortcuts, missed the door to the under city.
Second time, with a guide, I got further in 4 hours. DS still went on to become one of my favorite games of last gen, but not thanks to the obtuse game design.

I'll wait until the load times are improved. I don't want to play with a guide so I figure I'll die a lot in the beginning.

You guys, this is not the review, this is just the opinion of one of the editors.

If this was the reviewer talking,  the game would have gotten a bad score.

One of the IGN Xbox reviewers gave Aliens a bad score to Aliens Isolation because he sucked at it. Thats how IGN handles some of their reviews. They are very entertaining but slightly unreliable if you want a proper response from all-around gamers.

That woud explain why it takes them so long to publish a bloodborne review

And that's why to this day I hate Ninja Gaiden on NES lol.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Yep, I watch IGN for the same reason I watch Angry Joe (for news and entertainment). Some of their reviewers are only good at specific things and I wouldn't call them all-around gamers. IGN has more reviews in progress than any other site that i've ever seen.

not everyone is good at souls games...

He should review it so he gets a chance to better play and learn.
