Girls will like you better. That's why I got mine.
With the massive success that the PS4 is currently having, perhaps Sony will have more breathing room to bring back some of its legacy franchises on a more consistent basis. That would definitely get me more interested in the PS4 more than something like Uncharted ever could.
But it's not just bringing these games back. They would need to treat these games like they are important, AAA games. The fact that we know nothing about the new Ratchet and Clank is the perfect example of how not to do it.
Agreed, some classic Playstation platformers would be great to see on the PS4

PS1 through PS3. Those games were always there, and they might not be as popular now, they still have their place.
A big selling feature for me is to have backwards compatibility but I see with what you're trying to get at..

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]
Spyro and Crash were never owned by Sony. They were originally owned by Vivendi Universal, who co published the games with Sony as a part of an exclusivity deal for PS1. The company was eventually purchased by Activision. The characters went with them, hence why they became multiplat from the 6th onward. It's Sony's fault those 2 haven't been around. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sony has made the attempt to buy the characters, but Activision, being the garbage company they are, simply won't let them.
As for Jak and Sly? Never say never. Sly 4 came out a couple years ago, but was a commercial and critical failure. Blame gamers and reviewers for that absence. There is the movie coming next year that could potentially reboot the series. ND is too busy doing their own thing to be bothered with another Jak. Maybe another dev can step up to the plate, so never say never.
We all have our reasons for liking certain consoles. Honestly, the one thing that has kept from caring about my Wii-U is it's lack of a trophy system. That, and Smash Bros was a pretty big letdown for me...
Tearaway, R&C, Knack, Littlebigplanet on PS4 (soon)
but if platformers are your jam, you're better off on wii u
i will not pay for online, so im pretty sure i will not buy a ps4 for myself(we have one at work, so i can play while getting payed)

On the contrary that's the perfect way to do it, look at the reactions on SM3D world and the reactions on the last gamescon. Lately someone at insomnia. said it looked like a pixar movie and that recent trends and many weapons will be implemented in the reboot.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
