Forums - Gaming - Battlefield Hardline Looks to be a Flop....

Oh and although it is most likely inconsequential, does the site account for those playing story mode?

Who buys an FPS game for the story mode?

I only play the story mode. Also, Wolfenstein.

I wouldn't feel sorry for it at all.

If it flops then EA deserve it. The screwed up the launch of the previous Battlefield game so people not buying straight away would make a lot of sense. They also made a game that isn't that much like previous Battlefield games and just gave it some Battlefield stuff as a way to try and boost its sales. They wanna milk their franchises to death then they can't really complain once it runs dry...

Yeah I love battlefield

played it since battlefield 1942

but this game just sucks.

Agree.

I liked BF4 and BF3, but this game's is a flop in all sense!

Good the more FPS games that don't sell well the higher the chance other non-FPS projects get greenlit.

CoD, Halo, Destiny, and BF(non spinoffs) are more than enough FPS games. Give us some AAA PLATFORMERS!!!!!

Theres more platformers than fps's around, you must be looking on the wrong platforms.

The majority of platformers these days are indie though and he did ask for AAA platformers...

They are indie because of their nature. Large budget fps's make sense because theres an expectation for expensive things like story, online and so on. On platformers that not the case.... devs can use a couple of speech bubbles, piss poor sound effects, 2d graphics and still please the crowd as long as the controls are ok (e.g. guacamelee).

To achieve an entertaining level of gameplay in an fps REQUIRES a large budget.

Ironically, its the 'poor sales' of most AAA platformers that is the reason they dont get 'greenlit' anymore.

I'll wait until NPD. We thought Evolve was a flop as well until NPD showed us that it was being undertracked.

VGChartz VS a official source ???

Bad comparation...

People also used Amazon to say The Order was doing extremely well and that Evolve was a flop, look how that turned it.

It probably is a flop, but I'd rather wait for NPD to confirm it.

yeah, but we all know that Amazon isn't a 100% correct.

At least, on Amazon we don't have number's.

Any way, we have around 250,000 player's online.

Usually 70/80 % of player's are online (if not more)...

I'm mostly an SP guy as well, even for FPS games, but we are definitely in the minority

I put SP over MP. One of the reasons why COD4 is so valuable to me. Most other military shooters feel like clones anyway. FPS for me = Bioshock/COD4/Portal/Wolfenstein/Halo.
