Forums - Sony - God of War III Remastered coming to PS4 July 14th - screens and trailer

Well, I have GoW III on PS3 already, but this still sounds good for that who hasn't played it yet.

But if the game is going to release by summer, that would mean that the remastering is almost done. Meaning more time to develop newer games, projects, and more for that developer, right? Which means there's no need to feel angry over this.

Still, I don't need the PS4 version, but I bet there are people who'd love to play it.

So funny how people keep whining about Remasters. This game is okay because it's 10 years old. That game is not okay because its only 5 years old.

Then people get happy about Xenoblade on 3DS. Only 5 years old as well.

If a game can benefit from remastering to a significant degree, then I think it is fine. Wind Waker HD made some serious strides in not only significantly changing the graphics but also working a lot with increasing playability and enhancing game pacing. Xenoblade was also a game that could benefit from a remake because it is virtually impossible to find the game for a reasonable price. GoW3/TLOU were already great looking games on PS3 and a slight resolution bump doesn't really count as a significant benefit to a lot of people. Introducing a game to a new console is not a good enough reason, especially when you are only bringing over the third game in a trilogy. That does very little for people who are new to Playstation and haven't played the series, and it seems like GoW4 would likely be a better point of entry.

Also, this is alongside a general disappointment in Sony's first party offerings so far this gen (with bloodborne being widely considered to be the first must have game on PS4) and the fact that collections on PS3 offer a significantly better value including five GoW games in one package for under 20$.

Keep it going, this is entertaining.

Why not just stop bitching and complaining about everything. Acting like Sony it's making any new games, yet enter next week, Bloodborne, created not just by From but Sony Japan.

Xenoblade on 3ds isn't a remaster, it's a move to increase brand recognition. also, the wii game was hard to obtain.

I hear all the time gamers crying about fps and how much better of an experience it creates, so why is Xenoblade rarity a valid justification but 720P to 1080P plus 30fps to 60fps not just as valid? Both variables create a much greater overall experience. Not that long ago I was lead to believe that the years between releases was what made Remasters justifiable.

This is why I find it so comical. The rules change when it fits the agendas.

Not saying you have an agenda. I am mearly going based on what I see here all the time.

Remasters have a market, so they will be released. It's easy money and they help pad the consoles library and ease the length of droughts. They also bring in customers who may have otherwise missed out.

360 gamers used to own PS2s so may have played GOW and GoW2. PS4 owners may have owned 360s, so ended up potentially missing out on GOW3.

They are possibly trying to hit that market.

TLOU remaster was the same, yet we got months and months and thread after thread of pure vitriol.

I tried making the same claim you are now, which is the correct reasoning. It didn't fly back the, yet somehow it does now.

Isn't that the point of every remaster ever made?

Nope. Especially lately, where it's generally just to get an extra cash in.

What's wrong with that? It's not like they are only creating Remasters, which no doubt have teams that are tiny compared to main teams.

If you don't want them, don't buy them. New IP and sequels will still come. PS4 has plenty of games still coming that are not Remasters.

Its not like Uncharted 4 was delayed because a tiny team made TLOU Remastered.

GoW3 had so many good moments. Good for those who haven't played it or have been wanting to go back to it. I for one have the Saga Collection, so I will be passing on it.

Games like this illustrate why I'm confused by what we're receiving from "next gen" platforms. How come this up-resed PS3 game from 2010 looks better then 90% of PS4 games?
