Okay I thought of a more direct way to respond to your remark.

So wine always gets better with age. 

Was 2013 the best year the 360 ever had?

Was 2012 the best year the Wii ever had?

In almost every metric except personal opinion the answer to both of those would be no.

Was 2013, for the PS3 its best year ever?

Now we have a serious debate. The Last of Us, the most awarded video game in the history of our planet was released that year. That would be seen as the pinnacle of any company in my opinion.

Using this logic, and my original post, I declare that no, not every console ages like wine and consistently gets better with time. In fact I would say some consoles have a problem with premature ejaculation.

 

To be honest you should probably take what I just said with a grain of salt.

And take a chill pill dude lol 

Where is your planet?

Because in my planet games like Ocarina of time, Metroid Prime and Mario Galaxy exists, and they had even better critical reception... or are you talking about the Grammies of the game industry? Because that´s... funny.

So if a console is terrible the first years but gets better at the end is better than a console that is amazing the first years and average the last ones?

Is now the last year of a console the one who decides wich console is the best?

Where is the logic of that?

Every console gets better every year until they die. Doesn´t matter if their best game is released the 5th year or the second one. In fact, is better on the second one, because you buy the console for some good reason, not just blind faith.

I can't believe no one is saying something about Nintendo, when all they have is exclusives, and they get of so easily. What i mean is without multiplatforms they HAVE to have AT LEAST double/triple the exclusives the other 2 have. Plus all the exclusives they have are for certain audiences. No diversity. And ALL of you nintendo fans say they are amazing. I reaaaly don't see that at all. I see some good games but they all 3 have some good games. But not amazing games for Nintendo(only a few still not as much as the other 2 which is unnaceptable without any multiplatform games).They have 30 games of mario and zelda for !@#$ sake(not that they aren't good just toooo much of them, they overmilking the franchises). I mean seriously Nintendo fans are so overprotective and "blind". Microsoft and Sony have unbelieavable new ips EVERY generation and their classic Giants like Halo, Gears, Uncharted, God Of War etc. plus all multis. And you keep always judging/bashing the other 2 when they are years ahead of nintendo. Thank God most people don't think that way that's why the wii u doesn't sell. Only on the internet you see "OMG WII U IS THE BEST OF THE 3 CONSOLES WITH THE BEST GAMES (not true + the other 2 have so much more games) AND FREE ONLINE (what is there to play online anyway? Mario kart and Smash bros AGAIN big whoop)" And if all the internet has Wii U why does it sell so bad and it's ranked 3rd at the new gen? Anyway, i just don't understand why Nintendo gets all the support and praise when they don't deserve it and because they get it from you they wil NEVER try to innovate again.

Here on earth, in reality. Look it up. Most awarded game of all time, surpassing elder scrolls.

 

To be entirely honest, if I bought a console year one and knew full well that that was the best year I'd ever get for exclusives then I'd be disappointed. Especially if that was proceeded by a year or two long dry spell.  And for me the 360 stopped holding my interest after gears 3 came and went. There was literally nothing else to look forward to despite the fact that you think this is somehow good. 

 

What sounds better on paper?

Release schedule A):

1st year - 1 exclusive

2nd year - 2 exclusives

3rd year - 3 exclusives

4th year - 4 exclusives and so on

 

Release schedule B) 

1st year - 3 exclusives

2nd year - 4 exclusives

3rd year - nothing

4th year - nothing and so on

 

Somehow no matter what release schedule B is still getting better every year according to you. As far as Nintendo goes, I respect them as a company for not being complete sellouts. Btw I've never ever purchased a product on blind faith. I'm an extremely diligent shopper who does thorough research before making more expensive purchases. I'm informed. And with my current stance on our industry, I'm going off of precedence, not blind faith - as in we have three previous gens to analyze and deduct the tendencies of a company. My "faith" isn't anymore blind than your assumption that there will be an unannounced Mario game. 

 

One last thing - I never said Sony starts out badly. Bloodborne is looking to be a breakthrough success. Drive club is incredibly underrated, nothing will change my opinion on that. That's two must have AAA exclusives that both happen to be new IP as well. What I did mean though, by that wine content, is that I know it's only going to get better. A lot of things are pointing toward another golden age of gaming for Sony gamers. We can see it. The PS2 is back and I'm thrilled for the return.

Well for starters, Nintendo will show Star Fox U and most likely SMT x FE for the first time, so that will be good. As for announcements, I feel that some given ones will be Animal Crossing U and Metroid U.

Sony has the sales, so while i think they need something for the holidays, i dont think they are in any kind of danger. Especially because the PS4 has been getting more exclusives during the year and the Xbox has nothing. Yeah, but it sucks that one individual opinion sways E3. I've seen Nintendo win E3 before and those tend to be Nintendo's best years for gamers. Sony has the sales, but as far as games are concerned I cannot say whether I believe they deserve it even as a PS4 and Xbox One owner. I can definitely see that better days are coming as I know Sony are late bloomers. That whole "Greatness Awaits" thing is so true with them, because we're always left waiting. Microsoft always bursts out the gate with third party exclusives. Look at the Xbox, 360 and now the One. Microsoft is investing in new IP's but the new ones I hope survive this war and give birth to sequels are Quantum Break and Scalebound. I believe with all of my heart that Gears 4 will have a CG trailer at the next E3 so a lot is riding on what happens here. E3 can affect the holiday expectations of sales within certain brands. Fourth quarter matters a lot though and thats where Microsoft tends to win. I fear less for Microsoft on fourth quarter. I am playing my Xbox One right now much more than my PS4. Hands down MS has come to the show ready to fight. The question is will Sony live up to their great name and show some fight? Right now they are missing punches while Microsoft is throwing all of the landing blows. Nintendo is just fighting to get noticed.

What blows have microsoft landed on the PS4? Did i miss something?

Nintendo has all the power at the moment I think. They have Zelda, Starfox, Xenoblade, etc. I doubt Sony and Microsoft will have nothing but they do need something pretty big at this point.

True. The games are still listed as 2015 though and Microsoft said that the rumor that was spread that QB was being pushed back was not from anyone who worked for Microsoft, so they dont know what to say about that. I'm sure we'll see more at E3. If Microsoft has no delays they will own the 3rd and 4th quarter for sure though.

Starfox is high on my list, but i've seen aboslutely nothing out of it. It it comes out this year. If it comes out that is the day i will pick up a Wii U with Bayonetta with Smash and MK8.

Nintendo doesn't have any power right now and primarily because they have no third party. They need all the exclusives they can get.
