Another 2D platform game? Come on...

I would be OK with another Retro Studios DK as long as Nintendo has another studio or one of their EAD teams working on a 3d Metroid.

I'm actually not totally convinced that Retro has the capacity to make a ground-breaking 3D Metroid game anymore. I mean, they've lost a lot of their top developers to other studios or Indie projects over the past few years and I really believe that the next 3D Metroid should be much more then just Prime 4 with a graphical update. I know this may not be a popular opinion, but I think another studio with some fresh new ideas for the franchise could really be a good route for Nintendo to take with Metroid.

Until Nintendo announces a new Metroid (made by retro or not), Retro shouldnt announce anything because it will bring disappointment.

Don't want them doing Metroid. Don't want another Country game from them either. They should make a 3D Donkey Kong, and a Diddy Kong Racing 2 though!

Considering how some fans are angry at Tropical Freeze in the first place and how Wii U's release schedule is unknown beyond holiday 2015, Retro announcing another 2D Donkey Kong game for 2016 will strike a lot of nerves.

Plus, Tropical Freeze is selling poorly compared to bigger first party titles. So even the market wants a different game than a side scrolling Donkey Kong game.

It's a shame though because it definitely has more love in music and art style than the New Super Mario Bros. games. I wish Retro would become bigger and have a team dedicated for side scrolling platformers. They can teach the New Super Mario Bros team how to make their game as good as the classic side scrolling Mario!

I want to see what can they do creating a brand new IP

I would be okay with a 3D DK game, as long as someone is working on my Wii U Metroid game. As far as another studio doing a Metroid title for the Wii U, I'm totally fine with it as long as it releases mid 2016 and isn't a Prime clone. I'm okay with them using most of Primes elements, they just need to add some new flair and excitement along with that. 

As a side note, if they aren't currently working on Metroid, I personally hope that they're working on a new IP, even tho I would be okay with another DK(3D) game. Something in the vein of galaxy/sunshine/or 64 would be amazing. A Diddy Kong Racing would also be alright as long as they integrate 3D platforming as well as racing aspects to truly differentiate it from Mario Kart. I know DK racing was more of a racing adventure where you explored an island and progressed the story through races, but having played it back in the day, it still felt like Mario Kart.

Even though i love donkey kong country tropical freeze to death, i actually want them to make a new metroid, because metroid prime trilogy is one of the best game trilogies ever made, flawless. After a new 3D metroid game, they can make the final game in the donkey kong country returns trilogy,
