N3DS is new a console, which is why it can play games that the 3DS cannot.

Yeah, the New 3DS is definitely an entirely separate console with a total of 0 games on the market. Because that's happened before.

why do people keep putting 3DS and new 3DS together? It's like putting Wii and WiiU together as the "wii family".It's not the same hardware. It's a new hardware retro compatible with the older one....

no its not. The new 3ds isnt a successor to 3ds. its like saying the ps3 slim is a different console than ps3. or the dsi is different than the ds

N3DS has new hardware inside though, its like saying we should bunch the PS4 and PS3 numbers because its Playstation

From GAF.

3DS Family > PS4 sales according to Geoff Keighley.

Nope really... N3DS is a new version of 3DS, not a new console.

Is like compared PS3 original, PS3 slim, and PS3 super Slim.

By this definition DSi is a seperate handheld from the DS.

New 3DS is the same thing as 3DSi ... they just gave it a different name. DSi had an overclocked CPU and more RAM added as well and did have some DSi only software, and Nintendo was planning on releasing more DSi only software but that plan likely went down the tubes to focus on the 3DS instead.

Nintendo also doesn't dilineate between Game Boy and Game Boy Color either.

Not exactly.  Those didn't have special HW that made it where certain games could only be played on the Slim line.  But, I do agree, it should stay in the 3DS family, as it's only a small upgrade and not a true successor.

So, on software side, VGC definitely undertracking Dying Light and NBA, and overtracking The Order.

What makes you say that?

Their relative positions on NPD and VGC.

The Order is ahead of both on VGC (NBA not even on the list), but they are both several spots ahead on NPD.

Allowing for a chance that the Order is spot on, those other two, and several more, are then severely undertracked.

Someone hurry up and leak PS4 #'s plz

If Nintendo said Wii U up by +20% YoY, Wii U is at 95,000 little or less this NPD.
If it said month of month, Wii U is at 100,000.

The use of 3DS Family from Geoff Keighley makes me believe in Sony using 3DS and N3DS numbers separately.
