Forums - Sony - Should Sony stop advertising The Order?

Advertising deals on that wide of scale are paid in advanced. I'm glad they are supporting Ready at Dawn, I hope they continue supporting them as I have really liked there previous output.

The Order is a lost cause... good game or not. Titanfall showed us how this gen is going to work. If a AAA game comes out and the internet deems it unworthy, it's pretty much dead in the water no matter how good or bad the game is in reality.

In order for a huge game to sell now, the internet has to approve. Don't anger the internet.

Lol You should spend some time in the real world. The Internet is the vocal minority.

The ad campaign isn't that big. Hopefully Bloodborne gets at least equal treatment. these ads sell ps4s and the game. Sales might not be huge but it's more profitable than advertising battlefield hardline instead which they only get a small cut from.

I feel inclined to agree that they should put more funding into Bloodborne's advertising, but I'm not sure. It already has the dedicated Souls fanbase that will buy it, which will surely be enough to make a profit, and it isn't exactly the type of game suited for the general public, so I don't know if a huge campaign would be worth it.

Wow Amazon charts are really beginning to take over this site. No wonder ioi doesnt bother updating.

hoggin' all the action, I see...

I bet The Order can still sell a couple million. Also, this is likely a series Sony wants to continue.

Making the pretty game engine is the hard part, the sequel can focus on gameplay.

So people is not buying the game for Metacritic?People always says that metacritic doesn´t matter at all, but i guess it matters a little bit...

Eh, Yes to some degree. Metacritic and reviews in general would not be around if there weren't people interested in it and they didn't have any impact on anything. Word of mouth is also very important. I'm not sure that The Order has great word of mouth, seems rather mixed.

The average gamer does not base their decision on metacritic. 10% of gamers at most actually care about Metacritic. (that is being VERY generous).

Metacritic doesn't say that The Order is a "bad game", it just claims that is average, which no, it isn't bad.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
