There's a place for cinematic games or interactive movies and there's definitely a market for it. You might not consider it a game and prefer to watch a movie, if so.... do what others have said... don't buy it.

Meanwhile, lots of developers with different visions and ideas will work as they think best. Deal with it. |

Well, people that like 'cinematic' games because of great story and defend it against the game having no or rudimentary gameplay (I'm not talking about games with proper gameplay) should record a playthrough of the game and then get beer and popcorn, gather friends and make a movie-evening watching the 'cinematic experience'.
If it works, the friends are still friends and the evening was a success, the 'cinematic experience' is all right. If not a untalented movie-maker had the chance to get $50 instead of $20 for a bad movie.
I have no problems with games with improper story - as the point in games is gameplay. Therefore I have a problem with games with broken or rudimentary gameplay. The "cinematic experience" is secondary, it can add to a good game, but will not save a broken game. And if I really want a good story - I watch a good movie or read a book.
LOL @ "it's hurting the industry". The Order 1886 is being likened to E.T.
Joke thread right?
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Locking. This seems like a reaction thread to 'Gameplay isn't the most important thing in games' which is where you can discuss your viewpoints on the foundation and structure of games. Nothing constructive is going to come from this thread.
