Why you're so adamant against Nintendo titles. They're not your style.

I enjoy a variety of games but Nintendo games are so samey.

The titles in the OP span many different genres.

Action, puzzle, RPG, platformer, strategy, shooter

U would have to be retarded to believe those games are all the same

Does a budget make a game inherently bigger/better?

If I go outside and dump all the money in my wallet into a puddle of mudd, is that money better off than had I spent just $1 on a candy bar and saved the rest? Nintendo is extremely conservative with their budgets, but it doesn't show in their big games.

No it doesn't but a lot of consumers like me want the blockbuster experience.  Indies/small 3rd parties fill the void for the cheaper titles.  It's a pretty good combo.

How many blockbuster experiences is Sony making this year? Don't come of with third parties (since we're comparing the design philosophy of two companies)

Nintendo has XBX (open world of 400 km²) and Zelda U (another open world game).

They are making the best of them all uncharted 4. Another will be Ratchet and Clank And Until Dawn,

Destiny sold like 10 million before prices were cut and it still retails about the same as a new 3DS game. The reason their prices go down is because of insane competition from other games.  Nintendo games dont go down because if someone buys a wii u next year or this year chances are they will buy mario kart or smash

And how many weeks did it take to sell 10m? Not that many. And I wouldn't say that it being the price of a handheld game is much of a compliment. Again, this isn't a Nintendo vs everyone thing. Plenty of quality titles don't go down in price because, well...they're quality. Examples include Grand Theft Auto V, the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy, Forza, etc. And yes, Nintendo games, even from years and years ago, like Paper Mario TTYD and Perfect Dark, still go for full retail price (sometimes more).

Games like CoD and Destiny have to lower their price in order to remain competitive, because the spotlight fades quickly in that genre and if you're not the newest, shiniest experience, then you're out. There was a similar issue with platformers on the NES and SNES.

The reason wii u games dont go down is because it's a limited library and Nintendo knows that it's game will be bought regardless of price going forward. Yes they are mostly high quality but the real reason is the lack of new releases.

The combined budget of those games would probably equal one of sony's.

Again I'm not saying nintendo don't do anything awesome job but sony but in a lot of resources too.

There is a reason to why nintendo's has barely lost any money. These other companies screw up when it comes to budgets while nintendo doesn't .a Bigger budget game fails and the entire company suffers a smaller budget game fails and it can easily be recovered. Most of these compainies that are rich and healthy only need one flop to crash while nintendo would need many many many flops to crash.

Uncharted 4 being the best of all is your opinion, not a fact. But yes, it's a blockbuster. Ratchet & Clank isn't made by Sony and even if it was, it's not a blockbuster. We might as well start calling Splatoon a blockbuster then. Until Dawn is made by an independant game studio. We're not going to call games like Devil's third or Bayonetta 2 Nintendo games now are we?

U can't count something like Ratchet & Clank as a blockbuster and exclude titles like Splatoon, Star Fox or Devil's Third

Then why are games like Paper Mario TTYD, Pikmin 1 & 2, Metroid Prime, Perfect Dark, Super Mario 64, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword still expensive today?

This thread us about published titles, not developed titles so games like Until Dawn and Devil's Third count since Sony/Nintendo are publishing them
