The combined budget of those games would probably equal one of sony's.

Again I'm not saying nintendo don't do anything awesome job but sony but in a lot of resources too.

Does a budget make a game inherently bigger/better?

If I go outside and dump all the money in my wallet into a puddle of mudd, is that money better off than had I spent just $1 on a candy bar and saved the rest? Nintendo is extremely conservative with their budgets, but it doesn't show in their big games.

No it doesn't but a lot of consumers like me want the blockbuster experience.  Indies/small 3rd parties fill the void for the cheaper titles.  It's a pretty good combo.

Ya there is more games, but you have to consider the games are not to scale as Sony or Microsoft's games.  There's 2 re-releases there, a mobile game ported to 3DS, a game with a bunch of mini-games tacked togeher, and a bunch of budget games.  Honestly I'd say Bloodbourne's production values could rival most of those combined.

This basically shows the difference between Nintendo and Sony/Microsoft, Nintendo has more releases but they are games on a smaller scale which Sony/Microsoft have more big scale projects.

Difference being that Bloodbourne is not developed or published by Sony, and higher budgets do not mean better games. Nintendo at least publishes games that are functional and don't cost the same amount of money than a Hollywood movie would AND still have it work day 1!

What does that explain?

Why you're so adamant against Nintendo titles. They're not your style.

I enjoy a variety of games but Nintendo games are so samey.

But just because a ton of money was poured into a game, doesn't mean that it's a "blockbuster experience." Games like Call of Duty and Destiny cost millions upon millions to make, have huge budgets, but don't really turn out being substantially satisfying games in the long run. That's why their prices plummet shortly after release.

Nintendo has a very good balance, in my opinion. They always have smaller titles like Kirby, Yoshi and Captain Toad in between larger releases like Zelda, Xenoblade and Smash. And they're all made in-house.

You state your opinion as if it's a fact. It's not.

Cool that you have such a prolific viewpoint. Doesn't negate the quality of these games or why people enjoy them.

You consider Xenoblade to be "inhouse" ... I consider it 2nd party, otherwise I agree with the rest of the post.

Quality is subjective as well.

Xenoblade is in-house because it's made by Monolith, who is owned by Nintendo and develops games exclusively for them. They were an independent studio, but because they were purchased, they are now 1st party.

Insomniac is an example of a 2nd party.

Destiny sold like 10 million before prices were cut and it still retails about the same as a new 3DS game. The reason their prices go down is because of insane competition from other games.  Nintendo games dont go down because if someone buys a wii u next year or this year chances are they will buy mario kart or smash
