I do think that QB was at one point rumoured for a Spring release, like Titanfall was last year, but got pushed back. It might be a combination of both development problems and wanting to put all their focus on the holiday season. Honestly the ideal situation I think would be: August - Forza 6 Motorsport September - Halo 5 (It worked well for Destiny and the further away from Call of Duty the better.) October - Fable Legends November - Quantum Break December - Rise of the Tomb Raider Something similar to that. |
I think the 150 dollar lower entry + massive bundles had more to do with it. The exclusive games they launched last fall did not sell well at all for the most part. Halo 5 will push a alot of systems, Forza 6 wont do much as there is already a 2 Forzas game on the console, Fable is a wait and see, TR 2013 was not a huge game, but alot of people liked it so if ROTR is really good (85 meta +) it could sell a few systems, but people who buy a console for that type of game will likely look to uncharted 4. I dont know enough about Quantum Break to speak on it.
