Forums - Gaming - Why don't you play fighting games?

I play them sporadically. I playd Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on Wii U and had the feeling I was playing Tekken 3 on PS1. Obviously not for graphics but for mechanics. Same goes for Injustice in a way, but the story mode was fun.

But then I hadnt played any fighting games since PS1 and N64 and so the experience was kind of fresh again. I would imagine otherwise the iterations are pretty much the same again and again.

I do like them and I regularly play Street Fighter. What bothers me is the 360 controller because it is just not suitable for beat'em'ups in my opinion. As is the dualshock.
Best controller for this is and was the Sega Saturn controller. I might buy the madcatz controller soon, though, to stand a chance against online players.

The lack of artistic depth.

I can't be bothered to remember combos and if you don't know combos, they devolve into simple button mashers. And that's no fun.

The only "fighting" series I'm consistently into is Smash, and that's so unorthodox compared to more traditional games like Tekken. I can play them every once and a while, but I'm not a huge fan unless they have some sort of big gameplay twist.

I suck at them, and I would much rather play games I like than learn how to play a genre I don't like.

Because they are too hard for me. I wish people had an easy mode... I think that way more people would be able to enjoy this genre.

If you mean Games like UFC or WWE2k15, i love the sports, but i hate the handling of the games.

I do, Tekken mainly, love the series. Owned all of them, including the mess that was Tekken Tag 2.

But I struggle to get into other fighters the same way. Sure PS1 era had some greats but I just don't think the market is there for more. Tekken and Soul Calibur (yet will there even be another SC?) are basically the only 2 3D fighters left. This is sad. They need to bring back Star Gladiator.

Hmm, pie.
