1. Going by that dogma meant that Uncharted, Gears of War, Dragon Age, The Witcher, Bioshock, Call of Duty, Borderlands, and Grand Theft Auto would've never succeeded since their first iteration weren't able to work with anywhere near a hundred million ...

2. I doubt many would have pirated the Japanese version since a language barrier is in place to keep them from been able to enjoy it. Along with that many lack the technical skills to be able to apply the exploits to their devices so those were a vast minority and North America only had to wait for 2 more months after it's European release to get an announcement that it was officially coming to their territory so your allegations of piracy having an extremely damaging effect on Xenoblade's software sales in NA are void ...

3. You can get copies cheaper on eBay, Gamestop just doesn't know when to keep their own greedy paws to themselves ...

1. Those all happened long ago. Times have changed.

2. Trust me, I was tight with the Wii crowd at that time; when it was announced for Europe but not NA, many thought that meant it wasn't coming, or just didn't want to wait, and resorted to piracy. The English language ROM from the PAL release was uploaded and spread very quickly.

3. Tbone already addressed this one.

Easy: XCX > XC3D > XC

XC 3d may or may not top XC, but being new 3ds exclusive and not supply limited gives it an advantage over XC.

Nintendo gamers are less likely to try new ips than Sony gamers.

That's not true.

The New 3DS will sell more units than the Wii U, driven by the exclusives (and its features). Plus, you have the 3DS successor, which may be backwards-compatible.

So, XC3D > XCX. XC is overtracked, so it's going to the bottom of the barrel.

The new 3ds won't even get closee to wii u.

X > Xenoblade >>>Xenoblade 3D
I don't see Xenoblade 3D sell much on only the New 3DS. X vs Chronicles will be interesting, I hope X will sell more!

Though i dont think so either, Its not impossible!

N3DS should be currently over 2mil as of now. If it replaces the Regular 3ds within the next 6 months, i can see N3DS doing 15mil-20mil lifetime... Well maybe :0

XBX > XBC 3D > XC

I don't really have any logical reasoning for this. I just think XBX will be the most hyped out of the three and it'll have the largest following, even though it'll be on the platform with the lowest user base. I think XBC 3D will sell more than the original, since it's the first exclusive for the N3DS and that'll encourage more people to check it out, so it could end up having a pretty healthy attach rate. XC just didn't sell that great to begin with, mainly due to it launching in the US after the Wii had died and only as a Gamestop exclusive.

Wii U attach rates for huge exclusive games make the ps4, xbox one, and 3ds look like jokes. The denominator means nothing for Wii U games. I think the Wii U may have the most actively loyal userbase of any console ever when it comes to Nintendo exclusive products. Just look at these...

Roughly 8-9 million Wii U's sold:

1 New Super Mario Bros. U WiiU 2012 Action Nintendo 2.15 1.00 1.23 0.27 4.66
2 Mario Kart 8 WiiU 2014 Racing Nintendo 1.86 1.17 0.90 0.28 4.21
3 Nintendo Land WiiU 2012 Action Nintendo 2.25 0.88 0.44 0.26 3.83
4 Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS WiiU 2014 Fighting Nintendo 1.71 0.59 0.59 0.19 3.08
5 Super Mario 3D World WiiU 2013 Platform Nintendo 1.46 0.72 0.63 0.19 3.00
6 New Super Luigi U WiiU 2013 Platform Nintendo 1.18 0.55 0.16 0.15 2.04
7 Wii Party U WiiU 2013 Action Nintendo 0.29 0.39 0.81 0.08 1.57
8 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker WiiU 2013 Action Nintendo 0.71 0.36 0.12 0.09 1.29
9 Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze WiiU 2014 Platform Nintendo 0.48 0.32 0.13 0.08 1.01
10 Lego City Undercover WiiU 2013 Action Nintendo 0.42 0.29 0.11 0.07 0.90

The first 5 have insane attach rates. NUmber 6 is a freaking EXPANSION/DLC that roughly 1/4-1/3 of all Wii U owners own. Windwaker is a remake and it has STILL sold over a million and it was one of the most hated Zelda games of all time for almost a decade. Tropical Freeze was the game we needed and deserved yet no one wanted it and it still sold over a million. Lego City is a LEGO game without any big Nintendo characters in it and it sold close to a million.

X is waaaaay more hyped and desired than City (the ??? game), Freeze (the game nobody wanted, except for a few like me), Wind Waker (remake of a hated game by most), Wii Party U (I don't even need to say anything...), NSLU (DLC), and potentially more. But let's say it's not more. Let's say it's not more desired than 3d world, that means it is still going to sell in the 2-3million range on Wii U in it's first year alone. X is going to sell like bonkers because the Wii U has the craziest most loyal exclusive game fanbase of all time imo. And Bayonetta/Wonderful 101 don't really count because neither of those games are massive budget, open world projects like X (and the consumer knew it), and they were both either incredibly weird/hard to get into (101) or so crude and inappropriate that most wouldn't touch it (Bayo 1 and 2). X is going to sell at least 2-3 million first year imo.

1. Umm, most of the games I listed came to fruition in 7th gen ...

2. Like I said before, very few are capable of this feat and many do not even figure out if such exploits esist! You yourself mentioned that you got outside help to get a modded WII but many are not so lucky to come across guys like those. Console hacking is very much a private area ...

3. Nonetheless it was ultimately Gamestop who raised the price ...

I can't say I particularly agree with X selling 2-3 million its first year, given that would mean it would sell more than SM3DW did in its first year, which is very unlikely imo. However, I do think it will sell more than NSLU LT. It's a very hyped game and it's being bundled in Japan, so it should get very good numbers. I mean, the original sold 900k with no bundling, no advertising, a late release in two regions and being exclusive to GameStop, so I think it should be fairly easy for XCX to beat that.

But yes, first party attach rates on the Wii U are absolutely insane. Hopefully that trend continues this year.

If the n3ds manages that, it still won't reach wii u.
