Forums - Nintendo - Is 900K FW for Majora's mask 3D a success?

Rate MM first week sales.

Resounding success 211 75.09%

Moderate Success 62 22.06%

Mediocre 4 1.42%

Below par 4 1.42%

Total:281

of course it is a succes, a lot of games would love a first week like that.

The Japanese numbers are sold to customers, and the sell-through rate is high on this game.  Not only that, but you also have to consider that digital sales will likely make it around this number anyway.

According to TBone51, Digital sales are very low on the 3DS.

I've answered my own question though. A link between Worlds has shipped 2.51 million by Q1 2014, it is perhaps up to 4 million now, we will see in a couple of months when Nintendo release their shipment numbers, though 900k initial shipments does seem pretty good based on that.

Digital sales are not so low that it wouldn't make up the difference of copies still on shelves.

This source says 11% average for digital.  However, Ocarina of Time 3D saw 20%.

A handheld game that's a remake. Nope! And it will have beautiful legs btw

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

It is just a Remake, so 900k for the first week is very very good!

i expected no more than 500k.
luckily i was proved wrong.

Digital is all over the place! It depends on the game.

AC= HUGE Digital Sales

SSBU= Ok Digital Sales

SSB3DS= Alot of Digital Sales

Just to name a few.

Mario Kart 7+8 have a shit ton as well. Surprised by MK7, its in the top 20 for US Digital.

Yes, it does depend on the game.  However, Majora's Mask 3D is very likely to have more than 10% (especially if the average is 11% and that Ocarina of Time 3D got 20% in 2013).  Also, not surprising, Majora's Mask 3D is on the top of the weekly digital charts for the eShop.

why would people think 900k in the first week a failure... even more so that it is a remake.

Damn!! That is awesome! Now if only it could outsell OoT 3d T_T

 Well if it really sold 900k, OoT 3D took 9 weeks to beat this.  On top of that OoT was discontinued so it isnt moving from its curent spot so maybe
